I use a 4'x8' table these days I built for wargaming. Not Warhammer and the like, the cardboard counter type: Avalon Hill, SPI, Europa, etc. We have 2 extender tables for another 4' also now. Works great when we have a lot of people or big setups.

I THink the 1/285th Scale Sounds Quite Familiar... This was The Scale used by a lot of the "War Games" Tactical Training Games the Military Uses as well... (Or at Least Did)... Which may have even been why Steve Jackson Chose that Scale? (I Have No Idea)...

As to 6mm for 40K You are Correct... And I'm Guessing here, but that looks about right for the WK Mech-warrior stuff as well... (I Have been Thinking Lately of Breaking out my Old Car Wars Maps And Buying a Few Boosters of Mech-warrior just to see how well it works... (40K works great on Car Wars Maps BTW)... But I Never Painted My Troops Sufficiently to really Satify me for 40K... The Mech-warrior Troops look pretty Good Really... So Do The Vehicles... Almost Makes Me Wish SJ would Do a Car Wars, Pre-painted Miniatures Game... (Ooohhh, Like in 25mm Scale)! Ok... I am Rambling Now....

The company I used to work for - Target Games - produced a Swedish edition of the old GW Battle Cars game around 1986. At a convention the year after I set up a large free for all game using about 16 of the gameboards and N scale vehicles instead of the cardboard pieces included in the game. I even started out by turning one of the little cars into a Mad Max type of vehicle, but never took it further than that...

I Built Up a lot of Hot Wheels and Match Box Cars to use for Car Wars, Some of my Earliest Conversion Scratch Work was with Hot Wheels... Used HO Scale Train Buildings for the Environs... Looked a bit Like Some of I.O.'s Mad Max Stuff... They are Good For Conventions, because they are Bigger than the Cardboard... BUT, the Car Wars Maps are Really Nicely Done, (Mid-ville, and the Truck Stop)... At Some Time in the Past It seems like I used to have an Exspansion that was a Bunch of Vehicular Arenas'... But I Have Not Seen that Stuff in Years... I Know that the Others are in with my 40K Gear...

I presume the 40K quoted above is in actually Epic 40K MLV.
Yes?

As far as MW-DA MLV, Jordan chose the "N" gauge railroad scale for the game, not a gaming or modelling scale.
According to The Miniature Page conversion chart that RR scale would translate to just larger than 10mm - 10.06 or 1/160 model scale.

Knowing tactical games like Ogre because I played these sort of games for decades, SJG simply went with what was the most common American-use scale of the time.
BT was the American flagship of this scale at the time.

The Ogre infantry figures have defied explanation though.
I have never received a reply to my questions about this from SJG.

You Know If the New Stuff is "N" Scale then, That would Make Building City Scapres for the New Game Fairly Easy, and Take up a lot less Space than HO/Hotwheels... Even So I THink Setting it Up For Car Wars Maps Is Worth a Try...
