Yeah, I would like to get some of the MBA roads myself. For now though a marker works just fine.

MondoMat actually:) No, we don't get anywhere near my mother's 50 year old dining room table. A 4'x8' plywood table is cheap and if it gets ruined I can easily build another.

A ping pong table would work. Ours went down to a flood many years ago. Probably before even the invention of D&D.

Hey there Brvheart,

10mm how Close is that to Like the size of Warhammer Epic? I Do not Really Recall much except maybe Traveler? Or was it Ogre... I THink it Was Ogre that had some Tiny Infantry... Never Knew the Size though... I Loved (And Still do), the 1/72nd Scale Plastics... Soo Much Variety... And Technically about the Same as 25mm... But Completely Different Proportions...

If I remember right, I think Warhammer Epic scale is about 6mm.

Warhammer Epic for the 40k universe is 6 mm scale, while Warmaster for the Warhammer world is 10 mm.

Warhammer Epic for the 40k universe is 6 mm scale, while Warmaster for the Warhammer world is 10 mm.

Not that willypold needs back up, but I too confirm the measures he gave of 6&10mm for those games.
Those of you who used to play Space Marines/Titan Legions would have been playing at 5mm most of the time.
The newer stuff in the years shortly before Epic 40K came out was at 6mm.

MLV, Ogre was actually in both 1/285 and 10mm.
For some reason the infantry figures were in the larger scale without any separate rules that I know of.
Maybe one figure represented a platoon or squad - best guess.

Traveler was in 25mm; I own some of those figures which I use in BattleTroops.

As to other fun games, you could mention GZG's Star Grunt.
The cool thing about that game's rules is that they are set up in the same book for both 15 & 25mm scales.
Plus, GZG actually does figures for both scales for Star Grunt.
The bad thing is that with the demise of Geo-Hex, there is no American producer of GZG figures.
GZG also does the cool games Dirtside (6mm scale) and Full Thrust (a spaceship game - 1/2000 scale I believe).
Full Thurst has had many legal and illegal imitators.
Babylon 5 Wars and Babylon 5 Wars Fleet Action are two of the legal imitators.
I have not seen the rules for Babylon 5 Wars Gropos so I do not know if it copies Dirtside at all.

What I would like to get is a copy of is Dark Passage by Dropwing Game Systems in the UK.
The whole premise of the game was interior combat in corridors and such.
It was originally designed to go with SVP's Tech Tunnel terrain which was bought out by Ainsty when SVP went under.

If any of you are interested in information about all of the model and miniature scales, follow this link:
www.theminiaturespage.com/ref/scales.html
That file has a very extensive listing about scales, and how they interact between ratios and millimeters.

A ping pong table would work. Ours went down to a flood many years ago. Probably before even the invention of D&D.

I will echo brvheart about how owning a ping pong table is great for wargaming.
Our problem with ours is that the legs gave out with all of the folding and moving around.
I now have to use it with cinder blocks as legs.
Wargaming on a 5 foot by 9 foot table really lets you get the armies en masse onto the table and into some serious mixing it up.
An absolutely fabulous size for an urban battle!
