Tom, I noticed that you have some kind of colored lighting on your layouts. Has anyone else tried this?

Has anyone tried using small dry ice pellets in their dungeon to create fog?
I bet it would work. You would have to set it up and leave it covered for a while but...that would look so cool.

I'm going to use cotten balls (All pulled apart) for this big Spider webs from hell game coming up. Kinda Low Tech, But they work great.

Might start using them for simple mists/fogs.

(I smoke Cigars during games I could always blow smoke on the set-up but I don't think the players would appreciate the "realism" ;) )

I have used dry ice - but not for RPG.
What I HAVE done is play Cthullu down in a cellar of a derelict house next to my friend. We only had candles lighting the table and, unknown to everyone esle, my friend and I had set up my smoke machine in the corner, powered from his house. At the right moment, he set it off and freaked everyone.
I have to say it was as spooky as hell and we never played down there again!

I Like to Have Adventurous Music Playing in the Back Ground (Quietly), (Changelings, Dead Can Dance, Faith and the Muse, Sound Track to Conan, Sound Track to Pirates of The Carribean<SP?>...Etc)...

T.V. Trays for Everyone... (Hate to Have Game Table itself Cluttered with Drinks/ Snacks/ Spitoons or Scratch Paper)... It is Amazing how much more Focused the Game is when the Only Clutter is Figs and Scenary (A Few Dice Maybe But I am Anal about that too)... I Do not Even Keep Figure Boxes for NPC stuff on the Table Nothing but Game...

Low Level Lights... But NOT Candles... Every One Ends up Sleepy by 7:30 PM... Gotta' be able to Read...

I Used to be really Anal about only Painted Figs on the Table... But After High School and the Army, I Found I Have Little Time For Painting any More, and Even those Figs I Painted Well back in the Day have Gotten Pretty Scruffy... So I Try not to Worry So Much on that One... But it Does Make A Difference... Like the Difference Between Using a Battle Mat (Very Useful) Verses Using M.M. Useful and Pretty...

Do you have colored lights that shine on your dungeons? It looks like there are some red and purple lights shining on them.

Thor, could you post a picture of this? I would really like to see what that looks like and how you do it. I experimented with some halloween decoration stuff but thankfully my players never saw the oh so sad results.

You bet DaggerdaleDM. (odd, my spiders are in Shadowdale???)

If Mrmorden is still talking to me after the game  . I'll get him to post pics. (He has Didgital Camera)

I used to use kinda pulled apart cotten balls for Artillery Hits when we played WWII tank fights. (Pushed under the turrets they also were used to mark dead tanks. Looked great, looked like a smoking wreak.)

You should always carry cotten-balls in you DM's kit. Tons of uses.

Gas, smoke, vapor, webs, etheral creature, forming creature....... ;)

Cotton Balls Can Be Dyed different Colors too... (It will Look Like You "Ruined" them until they Dry... But once Dry you Can Carefully Pull them apart and get them Fluffy again)...
