We use Traps I & II. Anyone have any niffty new ways to use these???

First time I used the goo/acid cooridor with the rolling stone ball trick was awesome. Half the party had gotten accross when they triggered the ball which rolled toward them. Being pinned between them they had little choice but to fling themselves into the goo/acid they had just carfully crossed. Hee Hee Hee.......

The falling stone blocks are very nice to prevent the PC's from leaving and re-entering dungeons.

Traps III Ideas

Walls of Stone & Fire (Like the spell effects..?)
Large (2m x 2m metal Cage)
Giant Crossbow (Balista)
Corner Pcs. Secret Doors
Magic Mouth wall pcs.(as spell)
Some-kinda sliding chute?
Wall Pcs. with mysterious metal Dial or handle
Fancy spinning floor & wall pcs.
Forcefield wall pcs. (Kinda clear but sparkly?)

Might have to wait awile for some of these

Yeah, its all your fault Thor! The only set I don't have now is the Ogre Lair. Too much money to me for one piece.

I am all in favor of more traps if you got more than 10 in a box. Traps II was a bit pricey for what you get IMHO. Glad I didn't pay full price. I guess the working parts are expensive to produce.

Gather round Children gather round........

Let Old Uncle Thor tell you all about the Ogre's Den................... :D

I saw this set (set?) and thought, Yuck! What the.....thats stupid. I had just gotten all the Room and passage sets. I was so happy with the modular nature of it all. The Ogres den!! Why in the world would I want that??? It's just one un-modular room! I can make 3 of these with my normal set! and what? It costs how much?..............??????? No way Never ever....etc etc

Then I got one. (GASP) It is the most detailed piece they offer. Comes with Door, portculas, and a cute little treasure pile. I started carrying the dumb thing to games. Soon I relized that I was using it in EVERY game!

Turns out it's handy as hell. I keep it right buy me in my mini box (#37) and I toss it onto the table as a great little Cottage among other things. It is just so fast to toss on the table (and remove!) Whenever I need a room fast, I use it.

It is also nice to use as a second story. With its large base it can be easiliy placed on top of other parts of the dungeon and connected with wicked Editions staircases (of course). It can be easily removed to get at the level it covers.

With Its cool fire place it is offten the main kitchen area in my Taverns. I place normal DF walls around the Ogres Den building outward around it (It fits just like a 6x6 floor tile with walls) In fact you should probably look at it like that.

So Uncle Thor, Should I run right out and get one?

NO

The value (usefulness) vs. the cost ($60?) is just not there if you don't have the other stuff already. On the other hand I would Never Ever sell mine as I use it just too much.

Best to just ask some body for one for Christmas............. ;)

I keep telling my wife that everyone that has it on here loves it, but I still can't justify it for one piece. I keep trying for one cheap on Ebay.

Still not on my buy list. Would prefer another Cavern set or Deluxe Room set.
