First...I want to thank Tom for helping with the new look of the website. He has donated 1000's of dollars worth of website work to DF over the last year, and he deserves everyone's thanks for the improvements we are enjoying today. If you ever need any web work done, please give him your business -- he has some good gamer karma coming his way.

Second...I want to apologize for the Map Maker problem. It did not fully understand how complicated the project was going to be, and I should not have made promises about it until I knew it could get done.

Third...let me be the next person in line to say "thank you" to Stefan for creating Master Maze. It is simply the coolest gaming aid ever made, AND you should be very proud of what you have done. Not only is it very creative and cool, but it is also unique in that Master Maze pieces will be around for decades or even centuries. My grandkids will be fighting over my DF stuff after I am gone. Think about it Stefan...your Master Maze stuff will live on long after we all go to Gamer Heaven -- and it will continue to delight gamers for generations. So thanks....I thank you...and my unborn grandkids thank you.

I've been a fan of Master Maze since it hit my gaming store years ago. I've been gaming since 1977 (yep, I'm that old), and there's never been anything that rivals this.

Master Maze is beautifully sculpted, precisely cast, expertly painted, extraordinarily versatile, and it has one more virtue that sets it apart from anything else in the history of Man:

IT GOES BACK INTO THE BOX!

This may seem like a small thing to you, but in my experience, this is huge. The custom formed foam trays turn the box into a carrying case. That's amazingly handy.

My friends and I marved at the details that went into each piece, including little extras like the skeleton underneath the four-way passage. I've always been impressed with the quality, and found the price an incredible bargain. Heck, the pieces are even felt lined on the bottom, so you won't scratch your table top!

Stefan, your product is amazing. My closet full of Master Maze shows how much I love this stuff, and I look forward to more with drooling anticipation.

As for Jeff, his work on continuing the legacy deserves major kudos. I was very pleased with his instant response to an earlier question of mine regarding the new doors, and the immediate website update to go with it. That's service!

Keep up the great work, guys!

New website is nice, but there is one rather annoying problem

The profile section doesn't allow you to enter the province you live in in Canada (when you select Canada it eliminates that choice). But Verisign payments require either a province or state, so the ordering process stops there and won't allow you to complete your order.

So for now, you can only order online in the USA, as far as I can see.

Hi Admin,

Is there any reason why you can't ship to Europe? It can't be that difficult to find a courier who will take your business (or even use USPS).

Could it be that you have agreed not to do so with your UK distributor? Unfortunately for us Europeans, prices over here are pretty close to double what a US customer would pay for the same product!

I actually buy my DF stuff from a US-based web-retailer, and take a hefty hit on shipping, but it's still a lot cheaper than using a UK game shop. Surely something's not right here!

I agree, it would be great if you could do something about shipping overseas. Why is that a problem, by the way?

Normally I buy my DF from a store in Stockholm, getting their stuff from Alliance, but Alliance doesn't carry everything that is available directly from DF.

Hi everybody,

What do you think about the idea of making Map Maker an Open Source Project?
I'm not only an addicted gamer but also a software developer with a degree in computer science. I would commit myself to contribute to it. And I'm sure there are other people out there that would join the project, too.

Hope to get some feedback and volunteers !!!

As a gamer that remembers when Pong was state of the art in electronic entertainment (with two color options: Black and White), I thought the Beta version of the mapmaker was rather spiffy. Heck, if all you did was to add the pictures for the remaining sets, I'd be perfectly content.

I suppose it would be nice to have a product that allows for 3-D viewing, multiple lighting effects, and full placement of GM notes for traps, tricks, wandering monsters, and the like. But, that simple drag and click system works just fine.

That said, the most important thing is that you guys keep putting out the quality product that we all know and love. And that you keep having fun doing it.

Make mine Master Maze!

DF Admin--you guys should seriously consider throwing up a redirect from the old site to the new one. I clicked an old bookmark to the jeffcon site and got a 404: Not Found error but no redirect to the new site. You might lose a lot of people this way.

Just a suggestion.

I Have Noticed this too... Even When I Type in DwarvenForge, I am Getting a similar Message, (Occasionally), If I type in JefCon.Com Forget it, I Get a Convention Site Called JefCon (Perhaps the Same Jeff, but No Links to DF)...

If y'all have not noticed, they have changed the links that come off of having message notification when you have posted on a thread.
Jeff and I spoke about that a bit and then Tom was able to change it for us all.

Hopefully, folks who want to go to DF's WEB page will have enough perseverance and intestinal fortitude to simply do a Google and get the current site.

Actually all of your Own Impatience with the Rest of Us Mortals Aside, Even when I Save the Forum Site for instance to a Book Mark, it still Throws Errors Up when I go to Retrieve it... Though the Main Site is Coming up Quicker...
