While we are still putting the finishing touches on the site, let us know what you think about the new shopping cart system. Got any ideas for improvement? Thanks.

1. Overall, it's great. And just the fact that it's NEW and that you're paying attention is good. An unattended website is a waste.

2. I like the sale! Caused me to make a few purchases. As for the rest -- well, if everything gets here okay, then I like the changes! If there's a problem, I don't. Still, last time I even TRIED ordering from the site, it was a pain. This was much easier.

3. When I first arrive at the site, it automatically RELAUNCHES me to a "search results" page. Is it showing me the sale items? I don't know what it's doing. But I want to see the basic home page, so I sent myself back. Still, should that happen? It's a search results page with like 155 items and over 15 pages of listings.

4. You might want to streamline the menus -- I click on "Fantasy" and it shows me the new Fantasy sets. It took me a second to realize there was a smaller, less flashy list above the sets that would take me to the other available products. Maybe begin with just that list, rather than making the older stuff seem like an also-ran.

5. This may be a pain, but I recommend grabbing some gallery pics from the Cool Photos of the forum. When I saw the first SW pics, I was really excited, but then it quickly became the old gallery. These pics - and no, I don't just mean my own -- really do a great job of selling the product. Put some more up!

6. This may be a pipe dream, but there's a paper terrain company called World Works, they do mini-movies of their products, walk-throughs that make even paper construction terrain look stunning. I've even bought a set from them, the Maiden of the High Seas pirate ship! It's 90% the cool movies they show. Check 'em out, then copy 'em. I don't know if you have the tech guys/savvy to do it, but it will really create a stir. Heck, done right, it'll become one of those "dancing hamster" internet things that bring a lot of attention to the line! The more people know about this stuff, the better. (Case in point: I reviewed the Todd McFarlane dragon figures for a popular toy site, and I included the pics I've been posting here of them in the DF display -- the webmaster of the site told me a lot of people were asking about where I got the cool terrain -- lesson learned: Get the word out!) (oh, and btw, I told them, and I posted a link)

It is great to hear from admin once again here.
I, too, have a number of comments about the new site:

1) Please keep the sale going until at least the end of the month. I get paid once a month and that is not until the final week of each month.
This sale will cause me to drop a good bit of money directly to you.

2) I do not know what this relaunch problem that is going on for some is, but there has been enough talk about it on the DF Forums, you might want to look into it.
I have had no problem at all myself.
Is it because I use cable broadband?

3) Please re-vamp the wish list back to the way it was with the old site.
3a) The old way you could enter items in a specific order so as to keep various groups of items grouped together so as to catagorize everything. The new list seems to place things into itself in a random order.
3b) The old way let you put items onto the wish list that were in stock @ DF and out-of-stock items.
This allowed me to show folks what I wanted while supporting both DF's store and retailers around the country depending on where the giftgiver lived.

4) I am going to have to disagree with "L" on the Fantasy lists.
I caught on immediately to the sub-list idea and think it is an excellent way to not have pages of items all bound up together.

5) My complaint about lists on the other hand is that the 10 item limit per list is a royal pain.
This is especiialy so if you have to print out information for the computer-challenged among your family and friends.
It would be much easier with your print-friendly button if when you hit it, it generates a print-friendly list of all items in that category.
Case-in-point, the loose cavern pieces.
Three pages when it could be just one list.

5) Place items from sets together on the individual piece sub-lists.
Case-in-point, the cavern pieces.
You should be able to have all of the Cavern set pieces come up together and then all of the Cavernous Passage pieces come up together.
Makes reading the list much easier!

6) YES the gallery has need of great revisions.
6a)Place a choice in it as to whether or not you want to see Fantasy or SF.
This would make it more user friendly
6b)Please get some new pics!
Get them off the DF Forum in need be.
IO, L, Tom of France and others have some really cool pics there.
Sorry, I do not have any.

7) Worldworks
7a) "L" is right about the cool mpegs to watch.
They make the product more exciting and fun.
Look at the best one first - FirstLight.
The dialogue and the flow go well together.
7b)SF furnishings
Please get a Gamma Set out VERY soon so I do not have to stoop to buy First Light along with several other companies product to furnish my SF settings.
What I have seen of the Beta Set is a REAL DISAPPOINTMENT!!
My local gaming group has decided that your reluctance to do this is going to generate a >$1000 order to Ainsty in the UK for such items that easily could have generate by yourselves in my opinion.
I voted against it, but this time I was the only dissenting vote so it will happen in the next 4-6 weeks unless you can announce something of quality.

That is all I can think of now.
Let's hope that DF can take this new WEB page to a place of success they have not been to yet!
Good luck and best wishes!

I love the new page. Alot easier to get around in. One question though. Since there is no longer a link to the online map maker, does that mean that the project is scrapped or can you tell use the status of it?

Looks great and it is even greater to find out what is available!

I ran into one problem, though, when I tried to place an order. When I clicked check-out I got the following message:

"There are no shipping methods available
You cannot proceed! Please contact your administrator.
This may be a problem caused by an invalid mailing address. If this is the case, click on modify profile and fix any address problems in both shipping and billing addresses. Then click on "Checkout" to proceed."

My address is in Sweden? Could that be the problem?

Sorry...our shipper only ships to the USA and Canada. That would be the problem.

Can you answer my question about the map maker? Is it scrapped? Also, how come the Admin at DF was so silent about it? Why did they remove it without telling the customers? Why can't you tell the customers what is up with it? Business' need to be held accountable for the promises made to the public. All I'm asking for is status on the thing, if its scrapped, let us know, if its being worked on, let us know. But don't remove the link to it on the new site and not give us an explination why, that is deceptive.

I'm a long time website/forum lurker and I just have one suggestion/complaint:

the flash intro when you go to the main site, you might want to put a "skip intro" link embedded in the flash object or somewhere below the flash object (HREF link) for those that don't want to see/download the flash object everytime they visit the website. Maybe put a cookie on their machine the first time they visit that page and if the cookie exists skip the into page and go directly to the site.

I presonally use Firefox and I have a plugin called Adblock installed. When I went to the homepage after reading bout the redesign I noticed I was getting a blank page. It wa sonly unti I noticed that Adblock was removing the flash object that I was able to get into the main site. I personally don't like going to a website and be forced to see a flash object everytime I go there, that's why I have Adblock installed. while the animation is nice the first time, I definaly don't want to sit and wait every time I visit the website.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree -- it's cool, but in general it's good to give people the option of skipping it -- esp. for regular visitors!

Jeff, I am with farkon and L on this item.
The Flash intro is cool the first couple times, but gets annoying really quick.
Please give us all the "skip intro" option.
Have a great day!

Thank you, thank you for the update. Any info on it at this point is welcomed. Even if it is just a "hang tight" message. :D
