Hey Denny, long time poster on your boards and Mel's.
I like Sci-Fi Terrain, and to me doens't matter if it is Resin or Card Stcok as long as it is good quality.
I don't really care if it is card stock or resin. For me at least, each has a different purpose and uses in my games, and i'll use what works best for what i want. Right now i am in the process of putting together a few more Retrofit items to be used in my next adventure (the holding tanks) becuase they are pretty quick and easy, look good and i can make as many as i want.

I'll continue to support Ebbels, WWG, and DF as long as you make things i want.

I hope it didn't sound like i was against WWG or anything, one of the first things i do when i have a few free minutes at work, is go hit the forums of DF,WWG, and Ebbles and see what's new. Then back to work.

Hey guys, thank you for the words of support. Your FirstLight builds are legendary over at WorldWorks Ska ;) I don't think anyone is "against" WWG but I do know there are a few distorted views floating around out there and I would very much like to clear the air on those issues. It's incredible how harmful that kind of attitude can be to a small business like WorldWorks as it tends to spread like a virus.

I love what DwarvenForge does and have nothing but respect for the market they have created. Quite a few WWG fans have voiced an interest in collaboration with DF over the years and I have seen some wonderful integrations. If there was ever a possibility that we could work together on a DF specific product I would be all for it. Our production schedule is pretty busy at the moment but I would gladly shuffle things around for DF if they have an interest. I do however realize that a message forum is probably not the best place to discuss such a venture. If any of the DF crew is listening and if there is a fleeting interest please feel free to contact me when it's convenient for you.

Denny.

I do not need clarifications Denny because I know quite well what happened in yours & WWG's past.
I am not colored/poisoned about WWG's by other companies and their talk Denny; I am colored/poisoned by WWG's actions and your own words on the WWG Forum.
I just feel that you have allowed WWG to become overally isolated, even paranoic, due to a couple bad apples.
The paranoia I experienced first-hand is what turned me off about WWG's forum and business practises.
Denny, if you and WWG are ready to leave your paranoia behind, I would be quite happy for the change.

Denny, people like Stefan & Jeff here at Dwarven Forge and Mike Brooks over the "pond" at Ainsty would never run you & WWG over and steal from you like the folks at SEs did, to name only one major culprit.
The lack of trust that was shown by WWG with the immediate erasure of not JUST a link Denny, but the ENTIRE posting on the WWG forum about companies like Dwarven Forge and Ainsty is an endemic problem Denny that unless you fix it, will cause WWG great economic distress in the future.
Why should any other legitimate company out there in the gaming industry want a relationship of any honest type if WWG's forum is the location for distrust and paranoia of them?
Trust among the companies, more especially among the small ones, in the gaming industry is absolutely necessary for the success of all.
Dwarven Forge is moving forward under positive steam with the mindset of that showing product of all contributes to the success of DF in and of itself.

The paranoia exhibited over at WWG would not be diagnosed as healthy for an individual and is just as unhealthy in a company.
Denny, just because a very few were viewed as out to get you, it does not mean all are if they have not taken the time to outright show that they are benevolent.
That is just way good relationships, whether personal or inter-business, must operate; without trust, there is nothing.

Denny, I believe it would be good for you to open a relationship with Dwarven Forge.
It would show the gaming industry a desire by WWG to have healthy relationships with other companies and would indicate a decrease in the general paranoia at WWG.
Denny, a good sign to Dwarven Forge that you are really interested in a co-beneficial relationship would be for WWG to talk positively about Dwarven Forge on their own forum; WWG product, as you have been able to read, has been talked up by many here on this forum.
In fact, before my posting was scrubbed in such a paranoic fashion at your forum, I even talked up WWG product here.
The level of paranoia I experienced and saw while there at your forums Denny would not be a healthy sign for any successful relationship for an established company like Dwarven Forge to attempt.
If that has all changed, I would be more than happy to place my voice with others here to encourage a relationship between Dwarven Forge and World Works Games.
Otherwise, I do not really see a relationship with WWG as a beneficial one for Dwarven Forge.

I'm sorry you feel that way RabidFox. I would remind you however that those "couple bad apples" you speak of were my primary competition in the cardstock market. Ignoring them and their negative actions would be pretty blind of me. I'm essentially a very forgiving guy and I even made additional attempts to smooth over issues with these companies but I can only stand being slapped in the face so many times. At that point giving them and or their products a voice on my forum just didn't seem right. Unfortunately, the abuses of others will always push a policy into being. You can categorize that as paranoia if you wish but in real terms it's just an ugly business reality. I'm afraid "paranoia" had little to do with my decision making but if I am paranoid it is only for fear of losing any part of my audience to an incomplete understanding of a larger issue. As I said, if there is an atmosphere of mutual respect and enterprising creative partnership, I am always willing to talk to the competition (and even advertise their services).

With respect to the DF forum I will have to leave it at that. I'm sure the DF crowd doesn't want this kind of clutter here.

*EDIT* To completely extinguish this conversation at DF I extend an open invitation to discuss the WWG linkage policy on our forums. I would be happy to reconsider the position and even allow more open linkage policies with companies we respect. I would sincerly like to nip this kind of negative talk in the bud.

Thoughts from the Mad Yank;

Denny, you have had bad experiences and problems in the past that have adversely affected your company; you are 100% RIGHT to defend your 'paycheck' from predators.
This is NOT called "paranoia"; it is called defensive posturing in a hostile environment.

Fox, Denny has obviously used defensive tactics to prevent corporate fatality of his business. Based on the postings here, Denny had problems that required him to modify policies on his Web forum. It doesn't sound like he wanted to do so - at least, not to me.

Foxman, I hate to smack anyone down, but this time, I think you MIGHT(?) be a little more...judgemental...than necessary. As you said, trust is necessary in a business, or friendly, relationship. Trust Denny a little more, okay?

I'm going to.

See ya!

Let's leave issues from other forums at those forums.

I appreciate the points of view of everyone involved, but this thread needs to get back on track or it will be locked.

No problem as far as here in this thread moderator.
In the "Gaming Talk" section, we have spoken of other companies and their actions before so I presume that is still legal there.
So off to there:
