Be careful with the Hellscape Gate chain. I've only used the gate twice and now one of the chains broke. What a bummer. I will try to tinker with it and reconnect the chain.

Two needle-nose pliers (one for each hand) with rounded/smooth pincers (not textured or toothed) are probably the way to go when working with those chains. A decent magnifying glass might also help.

Remember that if you lose a link on one chain, you should remove a link from the other side. If they are (too) uneven, all of the tension will be on the shorter chain, making it that much more likely to break again.

You can find the proper tools (and similar chains) in the jewelry notions section of your local craft store.

This is why pieces with moving parts are generally, IMO, not the best idea. They may be cool, but they are the first ones to break. I believe this may have been a contributing factor in the demise of the two Traps sets.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted out.

I have not heard any complaints about broken pieces from the trap sets at all...they just didn't sell very well...i think DM's didn't think having traps was a good idea because players would actually see the trap...but, the way i use them is i let the trap trigger, and then once they fail, i switch out the regular pieces with the actual trap and show them how it worked...that's when they go nuts and laugh all over the place....but in my game at Tutu's bar I used the corner passage swinging log trap just by leaving it there on the table and nobody noticed the strange openings near the corner, since it was dark, and when they approached, I slid in the spikey swinging trap and swung it into the miniature, and yes, they went nuts again...well, except for the player who it hit...who was pale and quiet...lol....
