Re:Woodland set 2 Years, 9 Months ago

Here's the problem :

1 all the walls and corners of this set are larger than the floor tiles 2x2

OR

2 the floor tiles 2x2 have a shorter size than all the walls and corners ...

The problem is huge to me since I wanted to goto conventions with this set but I can't. The space bewteen each piece is too large to make something visually good.

Hello Heroquest,

I should have 3 sets probably before the end of may, and...i don't understand exactly what is your problem with this set....

Size problem between the floor and the wall ?? Please, could you create a little map to give more details on this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Lord.

I don't really know what happened with this set.
I planed to show it to a game convetion next month but I can't :

On this tiny map you see clearly the fllor tile 2x2 are smaller than all the other pieces.
In fact the floor tiles have the original size (5cm²) so it's all the other pieces of this set in fact that are too large.

Closer you can see the empty part between the pieces very well while the borders of the set up look ok :

On this one you can see very well that there are 3mm more on each side of the straight & corner walls :

You can see that too on the last one :

With the prison walls of the wicked 3 as I said, this is the second problem impossible to solve. I don't know if someone at DF can help me but I don't think so. Even Tom who just had received his wicked 3 also encounters the prison wall problem. Made in China ? ... the french polemic our president talks about ...

The Woodland problem has nothing to do with China; the factory is producing from the masters they were provided.

It looks more like the measurements of the original sculpts were off, and no one ever compared any test molds (if there is such a thing) to pieces from the same set or from existing DF sets. The problem was in development and execution, not in production.

Dear Jackattack,

If what you say is true,(I have no doubt :)) it's not a good news for us.... Thanks you very much for your feedback :)

Is someone else has the same problem with this set, or Heroquest is alone to have it ?

Thanks at all for your answer :)

I am really sorry for the distortions...as you know all our pieces are cast by hand and every once in a while there are pieces that shrink or distort during the process usually based on weather conditions during the drying period, we normally throw away such pieces at the factory, but once in a while some pieces escape quality control...as allways, you are welcome to send your pieces back for exchange or refund. Please try to understand however that our pieces are never going to be absolutely perfect the way, say, LEGO fits...as that is produced by machine. Most folks I've talked to have no problem with the fitting of the Forest Set, but If anyone has problems with it, we stand by our replacement/refund policy...as it is a Limited edition set, we will probably only be able to offer a refund in the case of that particular set.

As for the passage in the picture, I am sure we can get you a better fitting piece.
Once again, sorry for the probalems. It pains me when things are not working to satisfaction. We really take great pains to make sure the pieces are exact in dimensions when they are sculpted...If there was some shrinkage it was not at the sculpting but rather later at the factory...I will address the issue with the factory and see what can be done. If anyone else has problems please call our phone number and let Jeff know. In turn, we will see if it is indeed a problem that needs addresssing at the factory point. we will as allways set things straight so don't worry.

I stand corrected, and apologize if any offense was taken.

And can we take a moment and consider the absolutely outstanding level of customer service here. Many companies, small or large, might take an as-is, caveat emptor, all-sales-are-final stance. DF on the other hand will break open a hundred-plus dollar set to replace one or two pieces.

Hello all,

The after-sell service of DF has always been excellent !! Like Jackattack said in his post, there is not a lot company which can do it. So Stefan, i think that sometimes it's normal to find some little fault.

As you said it all the time, all your products has been made by humains, and not machines ! Nobody is perfect... But your products are always AWESOME :)

Df is more than a dream ! For all fans that we are :)

Thanks you for making us dream Stefan
