Re:Wicked Edition 3 Feedback 3 Years, 6 Months ago
I just got mine yesterday. First off, love the fire; I have so many ideas with those. I really liked the stairs, and was a little surprised when the door opened up on it. The pillars are very nice (I bought 2 extra ones). The double doors are very nice, great idea there! The snake passage is very cool! The slime passage is so-so but I can work with it.

As for the cage, I really liked mine, only one piece was slightly higher but not by much and nothing I can’t live with. Over all a really great set, I look forward to incorporating theses pieces into my dungeon.

On a side note, will there be any additional sets for Hellscape in 2011? I really hope so!
Everyone have a good weekend!

I unfortunately guess you are talking for direct customers.
I bought it to Dicetimo (fan group order) and just received my wicked 3 set.
Everything is nice excepted 2 things :

1 The prison door/wall/angles : I encounter the same problem than Lord.
Some grids are too high or no straight, impossible to place 2 prison pieces without having a problem.

2 The second is the color of the dunjeon walls and floors : too dark if you compare to other sets.

We can replace your warped pieces even if you got yours from Dicetimo, he has paid us for them and because he is a great customer of ours we extend the guarantee to you from him...please have patience to wait for a next batch of Wicked Editions 3 Sets from the factory as we will need to complain to them about the problems and negotiate for some replacements...
this may take till the next container around Gen Con (August). Sorry for the issues...

What is the procedure for refund for defective pieces?

My fountain is very warped, but only postage back and forth to canada for such a small piece will cost more than it's worth.

Any chance we can have a kind of coupon for a free fountain with my next order?

You can reply in private if you prefer.

Stefan, is your offer to replace pieces is still ok ?
I let you photos of my prison pieces :

Preuve à l'appui :

It looks ok isn't it ? :

And pof ... :

Let's look closer to see the disaster :

It's the first time I encounter such problems on "new sets".

The classic dunjeon line was irregular too. 2 years ago when I've decided to buy you half bow ties to fill up all holes I used a dremmel (the topic is somewhere on this forum) so I could fix many problems.
However I still have some with corridors :

We clearly see the problem comes from the last stone of the wall (to the top on the left wall extremity)
I think I won't have problem to fix this one but it will damage the extremity so I will have to hide it.

I just got my set, and for the most part my reaction lines up with what other people have said.

1. The slime corridor is nice, but probably the least interesting component of the set. It just doesn't have the same versatility as the others, plus I've never been crazy about passages (because they are, in general, less versatile -- plus you can't put as much accessories in them to turn them into something kewl).

2. The snake portal is nicer than I expected, but still suffers from two drawbacks. First, it has really steep competition in the demon archway (and mermaid fountain, which isn't a portal but is a decorative flourish with the same footprint). As nice as it is, it doesn't quite match its predecessor, which makes it feel less "necessary" as a new item. Second, I am not crazy about the eye the snakes are holding. It looks, frankly, a bit like whipped cream with a cherry in it. :P I would have preferred a simple gem there. (on the plus side, that's not that hard to customize myself)

3. The large columns, the double doors, and the windows are AWESOME. I seem to recall posting, when ABS2 came out, that its window pieces were a bit, well, boring, and not the kind of thing fans had been hoping to see when we'd been asking for DF windows. Well, THIS is what we were hoping to see. These are beautiful, and the only down side is that now I want to see more of this kind of thing, "fancier" than the flagstone basis for the dungeon setting, but still traditional western medieval (as opposed to, say, ROTA) These windows look like the start of a gorgeous DF palace.

4. The fountain and fire pieces are all smaller than I expected, which actually makes them better. I've always loved the amount of detail DF packs into smaller accessories -- the mugs and food from the tavern set, the shield and scrolls in the treasure set, the little torches and candles in the Deluxe Room Set and the MBS expansion set. This fountain is beautiful, and the fire is a lot more useful than I expected since it doesn't demand as much space.

5. The prison is awesome and a lot of fun. As I said in another thread, I'm excited to merge it with other DF backgrounds (how cool would it be in a cavern somewhere?) I also like the idea of using just the basic single prison wall as a kind of roadblock for players -- instead of a full cage, just a blocked access point, so they can see, but not reach, some room or other.

6. The stairs are awesome. I do wish they weren't attached to a passage element, and I'm not quite willing to shell out for ABS2 (one of the few sets I don't own) just so I can incorporate them into a room. But they look awesome, and I think they make passages even cooler.

7. The contents of the set are brilliantly designed to make multiple purchases pay off. I started with only one set, mainly because I'm lacking in space and money right now, but I will definitely pick up a spare as soon as I can. With two sets, you get enough prison pieces for a self-contained cage; you get enough columns and windows for a proper, symmetrical room; you get an extra set of double doors. The only pieces that would be superfluous would be the snake portal and the slime corridor (and, perhaps one wouldn't need quite that much fire....)

All in all, I'm very happy with the set. To be honest, while I've long been a HUGE fan of the "classic" WA sets (which have been out for over a decade now! yikes!), this may actually sport a greater ratio of pieces that I'd use. I doubt I'll ever love any DF dungeon pieces more than the mermaid fountain and demon archway (the former is what first drew me to DF, and was a present, as a single piece, from my then-girlfriend, now-wife). But at the same time, those sets include elements that I don't use as often, like the passages and curved corners. If I had to recommend a WA set to a newbie, I'd probably recommend this one, unless it was someone who really wanted the passage pieces.

Thanks for the feedback on this set. I have been on the fence on this one but now it's on the buy list.
