Ah, but you see, the temple of [evil diety] began as a simple altar in the middle of an existing structure -- as its followers carry out their dark rites and [evil diety] gains more power, the dungeon/temple/ruin/cavern in which the altar was located begins to physically change to reflect the growing evil. If the DoE elements ever totally overwhelm the traditional elements, then [evil diety] will rise and lay waste to the world...

Philip;

Apologies if my use of the word 'whining' offends or upsets you. I figure that since I included myself as one of the whiners on occasion (and if I DO include you, you're not exactly the most prolific of whiners, believe me!), I would be making it clear that I personally believe ALL of us whine at some point, about SOMEthing in DF. However, most of us DO whine constructively, which is the important part of the missive.

Again, sorry for the choice of adjectives, but not for the intent of the post.

Happy Holidays, and SEE YA!

Today i had some more time carefully scanning ma DoE We set.

One piece is absolutly disappointing: the pool
the "faces" look more like some crispies swimming in red fluid than
poor, tormented souls. I think i will never use this
on the good side is the lid, i like it that i can use this pool as a raised platform,
that will see a lot of uses.

On the good side:
The demon archway, i like this one as i liked the green one from WE1, a neat piece
to catch someathmophere in setups.

The pillars (both types):
i like these very, very much they bring even more athmosphere to the DoE.

All of the other stuff is superb.

Green_knight,

Have you considered modifying that piece?

It just seems that pit could have so many uses.

Your modification need not even be permanent. Such non-permanent mods could include picture/photos (cut to fit) or some stretched cotton -(to simulate smoke or fumes).

There are undoubtedly many possibilites and it just seems such a waste, if you are not able to use the pit itself.

I don't know if you're interested in doing that, but I'm sure there would be no shortage of creative suggestions around here on how you could find uses for this part of the piece.

In fact, non-permanent ideas may also be useful as temporary modifications for others as well.

Just a thought.

And if you have the skill to do so (and a spare piece, just in case) you might carefully remove the pit's "contents", then finish the bored-out edge, to give yourself an EMPTY pit.

Then you can put whatever you want at the bottom, the only limits being your imagination and your ability to find/create physical representations of those ideas.
