My order has been sitting at the post office all week and I've had till wait till Saturday morning to pick it up. I have just opened and inspected the sets and can't get over how great these are and how, depite the impressive array of pictures we have all seen, how much more impressive they are in person.

Thanks again DF for such a brilliant product.

After a horribly painful proccess after the taxman took my package with CR&W set, at last it arrived yesterday!

The horror: they custom guys have opened it!!! the box have been closed again with tape, and the pieces were out of their places, all over the box, which was biger than in which it came at first. I am berserk for it, I think they don't have the right to do that, even if they suspect anything.

The miracle: No pieces damaged or broken, by pure luck, because the image I saw when open that box was painful.

Ir have been able to play around a little with it, and I want to give congratulations to Stefan for his amazing full of talented work product. Thank you man, it's superb, beautiful, outstanding. Don't try it at home ( even with HA ;-) )

With time I hope to get some more CR&W as well as lakes (if you give 2007 to Sci Fi it will be easier!! XDDD)

Congratulations and thank you again, it's really beautiful, durable, versatile, what a clever design!!!!

Greetings to all!!! Now I look for my lake set preorder desperately!! ;-)

That is very bad! I only very rarely have a package opened here in Australia (And that is by Quarantine looking for illegal imports rather than the taxman) and even then things were immaculately packed back in the original box, along with a brochure explaining nothing was removed and why the Australian Quarantine service must inspect packages.

I just want to say again how happy I am with this set. I used it in a session a couple of weeks ago and it made the whole underground setting for the adventure come to life. It is a thing of beauty.

Well, don't want to go off topic, but, answering to waza: man, It had never happened to me before, so I am a little confused... but I am very afraid now that it happen to my Cavernous Lakes or evil aditions, mistery set, etc... I don't have idea why they do this, the taxman have taken my packages 3 or 4 times before, but always had arrived in excellent condition.

This is not a good deal, even worst because I've paid almost the cost of 2 sets only for shipping + taxes... and I only have 1 CR&W set!!! Really painful. Need European distributor more than ever... :-/

arsthein -

I've been enjoined by another user on a different thread here at the Forge not to address the issue of governments in Europe, so I won't.
But then, that means that I can't address the issue of the Taxman, either, so I guess I've been prohibited by the Thought Police from any commentary on your difficulties, period.
Sorry, guy; I CAN commiserate with you, and I DARE anyone to tell me I can't do THAT!
It's interesting that the person who muzzled me is - no, wait a minute, I'd better not start THAT attack either!
Oh, well; I guess freedom of speech isn't always appreciated by SOME people.

Anyway, I hope you can get some resolution, if not restitution, from your local taxman. Good luck.

See ya!

Jim - personally, I second that person's post. Anytime someone opens their mouth about politics, someone in the group seems to think their way of thinking is the ONLY way that's right and that everyone else is wrong. People tend to sterotype and classify and label other people and crucify people who don't think exactly like themselves. I have a good friend at work but when he mentioned his views and I disagreed and just stated how I thought about things, the next thing you know I had three people raising their voices at me and telling me how stupid my way of thinking way. When I repeatedly asked them please not to discuss politics they said I went berserk and yelled (which I didn't - they were yelling at me and were demanding that I answer why I didn't want to discuss politics (which I explained but they continually asked why anyway) instead of politely accepting and honoring my simple and polite request). That's just plain BS and I'd hate to see it happen here. My personal preference is simply NOT to have statements about politics (such as which political party one supports and why the other guys are so stupid) on the boards, at work, social gatherings, etc.. It's just a powderkeg waiting to explode.

Again, that's just my personal preference (not to discuss politics). Really, I should say that I don't even want to hear it. Again, the reason being is this, I usually hear people bashing the party I most, or nearly most, sympathize with. I cannot, however, speak out loud and voice my opinion. Why? Because then I get bashed like all heck by the people supporting the other parties. So, what it comes down to is I have to listen to my own believes belittled and called crap and there's nothing I can do about it. That's just not right. If people cannot discuss politics without the hate and anger, politics simply shouldn't be discussed.

Just think about how a person would feel if three or five others ganged up on one person and told them all the various reasons their GOD was stupid and corrupt and did horrible things.

I was trying to keep quiet - honest. I just don't think it's fair to bash someone and totally stretch the truth of the matter (they only asked (maybe they told you...it would have been better to ASK you nicely) you not to discus politics.

I apologize if you think I'm trying to silence you or anyone else thinks this way. My only intent is to explain why someone might ask that we not discuss a volitile subject that almost always ends up in heated arguments with hurt feelings. I simply don't need that in my life and I'm sure others would agree.

Hope that helps explain why someone might politely (not sure their request was, but hopefully you find my request polite?) request that politics not be discussed on the DF forums.
In any case, it's only a request. If you choose to not honor that request, may I request that you at least take political discussious to the Non-Gaming board? Thank you!

Jim - hope there are no hard feelings. I was just trying to explain why someone might ask other persons not to discuss politics. Hope it helps see it from the point of the asker.

Yeah, I think this is probably a safe call. People are very sensitive about these issues, and they can unintentionally mis-read what is meant as a very innocent statement.

Consider how you might respond to the reverse situation -- someone complaining about something on the forums, and a French or Spanish member says something like "Well, that's the way it is in America -- XXXXX are always stupid and lazy, and you just have to deal with it."

The oldest rule in the book applies here -- you're only allowed to criticize your own. You and RF, for example, can bash the inefficiency and cluelessness of the American armed forces, cause you've served and you've dealt with it, and it's done with love, as it were. But if someone who didn't serve, or someone from another country, started bashing the army... well, it wouldn't sound the same at all, would it?

It's like the old Seinfeld episode where Jerry's dentist converts to Judaism, and then starts telling Jewish jokes. Jerry thinks he did it just for that reason. "You're offended, because you're a Jew?" someone asks. "No, because I'm a comedian!" he replies.

;)

John, L -

I DON'T object to being ASKED to shut up; in some ways, I'm the guy that's always taken somewhere twice - the second to apologize!
My only objection was to being TOLD to shut up - when all I said was that people have the government they want, one way or another. And if they don't want it, they should change it - preferrably by peaceful means, if at all possible.
Go figure.

And NO, neither of you offended me by your remarks; you guys are cool.

See ya!

Ha! That's a great line. It reminds me of a line from Homer Simpson once -- "It's the first time anyone ever called me 'Sir,' without adding 'you're making a scene.'"
