This feels like the week before my birthday and I will be just turning 10. The anticipation is high.

"Wow...just saw the video. Goosebumps. Can't wait to show y'all. Next week."

Can I suggest DF fb admin invites us all to a 'fb event / online party' so we can get a date and time in our busy calendars to make sure we are glued to our browser devices ready to watch and read about the KS project we are all waiting to know more about ??

+Forum members. If you are not already - Like the DF page. In todays social media; numbers count. (ok. Numbers have always counted... But you know what I mean!?)

As I post this there are 1,981 people who have 'Liked' the DF FB page. Be good to see that go up some.

It could be a newer, cheaper material to bring in some new potential collectors. Though I certainly wouldn't bet on that idea- going cheap is kind of the antithesis of what DF is all about.

Perhaps its kind of a "greatest hits" set? Something not as open or versatile as the R&P set, but containing the basics plus a few cool elements from some of the WA, AB & Fantast Floor sets.

Or maybe I'm totally wrong and its neither of those things lol

I could see it being a route to place it on there in hopes to sell the restock that comes in. Lets say as an example they wanted to restock in June and know they will have X sets and Y of each this would give them a larger base of people that would buy into it. This also gives free marketing in that even those not familiar with Dwarven Forge that do game may use kickstarter.

Though the little bit of info I get from it will be that it has to do with tiles... hopefully it will include alot of things similar to the 6x6 squares in that it will have a lot of different flat terrain. This could be easily applied to many other games that use a grid but may not need walls.

Either or I look forward to it and with any of the other dwarven forge stuff I imagine it will have higher quality than any other product out there.

I disagree; DF is about quality, not price. It just so happens to get that great quality product costs a lot of money. If they could produce the same items for 1/2 the price, they could charge significantly less, still make the same profit, and sell more.

So it wouldn't surprise me if it's a new, cheaper method. Perhaps it's not as good as current sets somehow (which would be why current collector's wouldn't need it) or it's a repeat of current sets, but a cheaper product would let them get it to FAR more people. After all, price is the only reason I just started collecting.

And yes, I hope the KS gets released today :)

My guess?
It is a set that helps people move from 2D to 3D.
A combo of great quality printed rooms etc / card stock etc and some 'real' elements.
Like doors. Like fireplace. Focus on moving parts. To get people into the hobby and using 3D pieces and then looking to go the whole hog into our 3D word that is full on DF!
The images may even be only of the existing sets so that that they can then slowly buy the same in 3D.

I remember reading somewhere that this is geared toward newcomers more than people who have collected quite a few of the sets. While I'm sure whatever the guys have planned is going to be great I'm hoping to see some type of "add-on" content or piecemeal type ordering.
