I've been to that ground zero. I'm from Glenwood so I go to Omaha and Bellevue all the time. Is that a picture of the tunnel in the old market as your profile pic?

Holy cow! Yes, it is! I took it one day while walking through "the passageway".

This thread really is magical.

Great news, I hadn't been aware of the memorial until reading about it here, and have donated for this excellent cause.

Hope it all goes forward smoothly and look forward to seeing the final result.

Thank you so much everyone! I feel like I've been given the task of honoring and protecting the Holy Grail in some sort of way...Gary was the father of Roleplaying, an initiator of so many incredible and creative things, and a changer of Lives as was my case...
I started playing D&D when I was around 10-12 years old at summer camp...I didn't know it at the time, but the game would change my Life...in later years around 15 years old I was sent to Art and Design High school in NYC and studied to become an Artist...I met many great teachers, went on to get a Masters degree in Painting from the Hartford Art School, all the while playing Dungeons and Dragons every free second I had...In NYC I went on to have some modest sucess as an Artist and a Teacher but as many young artists had to supplement my income with some sort of other job...thus in 1995 was hatched the Dwarven Forge!
It was a business and creative passion that sort of took over my everyday Life and gave me less and less time for my Art...although I am now making a decent living through Dwarven Forge I often wonder If I had sold my Artistic soul to the devil...or in this case Gary Gygax, ha,ha, I say that in jest of course...and so, all these years later, it seems the Universe has worked it out so that my two worlds will meld together in what I hope shall be an epithany of my Soul...

This project is the most important thing I have ever done in my Life.

I feel that in some way, I was meant to do it, but still cannot believe this has actually been put into my hands...I have been trusted with a most important task, and I move forward with an utmost seriousness and commitment to get it done right. The way Gary would have liked it (not TOO serious) but from my idea, properly reverent to the great Man...

Hope to roll a 20 (again)

Way to go Stefan

I can see Gygax almost as a bishop or high priest in a bishops robe and head gear and in his hand a crooked staff guiding his flock. Hidden in his other hand behind his back, the d20 of mischief!
