I think it's what I call an "inside corner"; the stairs are on the concave side of the curve/corner, so if two characters sat on the same stair they would be facing towards each other (at a 90 degree angle).

A standard curved stair (what I call an "outside corner" has the stairs on the convex side of the curve/corner, so if two characters sat on the same stair they would be facing away from each other (at a 90 degree angle).

Kewl stuff folks! The walls with the sarcophagi and the double doors are really nifty looking... As is the ruined entry way... Which, I might add, is the first trully "Outdoors" themed piece we have seen to date. I know...I know, MBS is clearly a useful "Outdoors" set, but it can also be used for a variety of other locations too... But that entry way, wow, how kewl is that--as an outdoor piece of scenary? However, as usual, I digress...*Grin*...

It's funny, after years of discussion on these boards about "Gladitorial/Arena" themed sets, we finally have something which is considerably more functional, but which even Stefan has pointed out could add that sort of flavor to a set-up. Proof I suppose that no good concept ever really dies. Though it may need to wait until the right time to evolve properly. Too kewl, thanks DF!

Sorry if this has already been asked about elsewhere but: do you think these stairs and inverted stairs will be available in individual* sets? As versatile and good looking as they are probably going to be, it would be a shame if fans couldn't get them unless they were buying complete RoTA sets.

*By individual I don't necessarily mean 1, it could be, say, 4 sets of stairs. This would help get around the "too small to be profitable" problem of having individuals.

Oh yah and by the way Harnloot, I never buy 20 of something. I do it in multiples of 6 or 9 (such as 18, or 36). My storage is 1 foot square and by making everything in the right quantity I can fill up everything efficiently.

It is harder for us now to do "individual" smaller sets (like a set of 5 2"x 2" floors) due to changes with the factory. Stefan is working up something though...stay tuned.

There will be a good amount of stairs in the set, probably (we dont have a price yet, but they are small pieces) a couple of the stair pieces will be in quantity of 4, the ones that make sense, so having just 2 sets will give you a ton of stair options...and then there is ROTA3......

Ahh, that is good news! I was hoping to get lots of those cool stair sections. I am very glad to hear that there will be so many stair pieces in ROTA2!

Mmmmm...scones. :)

Actually, it's funny that you mentioned broken columns, as I just made some last night that I hope to paint up in the next couple of days.

I definitely will. Although it's funny you should ask, as I was mostly inspired by all of your photos of minis you have painted for ROTA. I figured I better get prepared as well! :)
