To each his (or her) own. I also loved the mosaics but this less ornate, and more affordable, scheme is MUCH more flexible from my point of view. It's easier to render additional colors rather than take a chance obscuring and possibly damaging the beautiful, more expensive ones.

I hope to order three sets but will have to see how much the bosses have appreciated my efforts over the last year !!!

The only thing I'm surprised about, and somewhat saddened by, is the lack of any particular doors or even arches to more enclose / define the spaces. Stefan, what are your plans for the future releases to this environ ? I think slide-in archways similar to the wall pieces would be fantastic !!

BTW, I love the little rotating secret door / medallion detail !!! These are the details that got me into DF in the first place (the individual Master Maze Wall with Secret Door was my first purchase ... to use as a diorama base for a miniature) !!!

Double doors are included in the next ROTA :)

Oh...and there is also a SUPER SWEET Ruined Entrance piece -- that is probably my favorite piece EVAR!

Pics! When do we get to see some photos of this SUPER SWEET Entrance?!?

I know I am in the minority on this, but I haven't been overly excited about this set. I would have like to have seen a more ruinious section. The wall with the hole in it is awesome, but would have like to have seen some half-wall sections, broken/shatter pilliars etc, partiicularly since the sets color was reduced from the bright mosaic to the darker tones. The addons may still sell me on this set though. The same thing occured with Den of Evil sets, so I am sure Stefan will draw me in with his incredibal work. The detail on the set is very nice though, I can't argue that at all. :-)

ROTA-2 pics for Christmas(or Festivus), sounds great. Really looking forward to this set. Sounds like a ROTA wicked additions set. The DOE wicked additions set added a ton of new possibilities to our miniature gaming(the altar).

Any chance you will offer pre-order and bonus limited edition pieces for multiple orders for ROTA-2 set as well?
Just curious so I know how much Champaign to buy or not buy for NYE! Or will it be Sparkling wine, haha...

I think perhaps a large round door that rolled to the side would be cool.
BINGO !!!

Yeah i have liked that idea for a while in either Sci-fi (hatches) or what made me think of it was a discovery show cities of the underground a year or so ago that had these caves with doors like that (some sort of emergency hidy hole for the natives)...

You are refering to the underground cities in Cappadocia (located in Asia Minor/Turkey). I've been to them on several occasions and explored the large commerical ones - 1 where 4 of 9 levels are open and excavated for explorations; and I've also been to several (dozens of) smaller but no less fascinating underground cities/complexes. And indeed this feature of rolling mill stone like "doors" is common - often with side passages paralleling the main one which have convienient arrow slits cut into the walls! Lots of other nifty features as well - such as shafts connecting various levels - and I've ascended and descended a number of these - with hand and toe holds and utter darkness down below...etc etc. I've taken extensive video of such places - all unique and some with really interesting features. I also once stayed at a "cave hotel" in the area. Lots of really cool stuff for avid dungeoners! Other structures in the area include incredible cliffside dwellings as well.
