Missing stuff:
1. Passages (4-way, 3-way, L's, 6" straight ones
2. 6" walls
3. Large room floors (6x6)
4. ruined dead end passages
5. 1" wide doors with a wall
6. Aquaduct tiles that could be used to turn the room wall pieces into a roman-style aquaduct
7. Mural wall with something like zeus or thor

Hmmm..... now you're getting me thinking. I should have included open floors in my original post -- that's definitely something I want to see. The designs on the large intersection/room/passage pieces would be GREAT as floors you could drop into any arrangement. I'd also love to see ruins, but I'd prefer to see free-standing ruins to a specific "dead end" piece. Some piles of rubble I could place wherever I want would be great. I suppose the sliding walls could be used to great effect in this respect, but it's not the same thing as having BROKEN stuff. (I guess I could pull out my HA molds to do something along those lines....)

Man, I can't wait for this set....

I like the concept of free standing ruins/rubble! I might have to do some of this up along with a dung pile I've been meaning to do for a room.

I'm actually kind of enamored of the idea of walls as doors. It's creative, it's sets RotA apart from other sets, and it opens up lots of things for GMs to challenge their players with.

Walls as doors makes RotA even more distinctive that the new walls and floor textures. Classic DF (and MBS) has wooden swinging doors, DoE has doors that rise and lower like portcullises, and Caverns have no doors at all. Perhaps the RotA was so magical that anyone who knew the enchantment or had the right magic amulet could pass through the wall, or make it vanish. Perhaps the walls were mechanical contrivances activated by pressing the correct combination of stones. Perhaps the Ancients were so good that doors simply weren't necessary.

By using walls as doors, GMs can do all sorts of interesting things. The GM can hold a piece of paper to keep track of which walls are doors and which aren't, then watch the players spend half an hour trying to open an actual wall. We can send players on a circuitous path looking for the magical widgets that activate/open particular walls. We can give players a set of keys with complicated strings of runes or numbers, or an enchantment that requires special words or location references, that the players have to match to specific wall-doors (see the movie "Cube" ). We can cut blocks of clear plastic to hold up the removable panels at half and one-quarter elevation, and give the players three rounds to get under them before the wall is sealed forever.

And best of all, we can watch the thief cry when he realizes that his 120% lockpicking skill and his +20 finely crafted magic lockpicks are USELESS!

6 inch long walls, and 6x6 floors are required in EVERY set, they are just so darn usefull for making large layouts fast that they are just like a no brainier IMO...
But other than that yeah some of the things would be "usefull" but i am so far happy with RotA as is. I really like the walls as doors. heck i wish they had thought of it for Sci-Fi.... So maybe DELTA can have one of those...??? please...

When I first saw the teasers for the wall sections I thought immediately of secret doors. And I suppose I have always been sort of figuring that the wall sections naturally doubled as doors.

That said, my heart jumped and skipped a beat when I read that there would be double doors in RotA II. However, it was not so much for this set but rather that we have been yammering for a while for double doors in general. So, will they be generic enough to easily transition from set to set (Genre to genre that is) or will they be very distinctly RotA in appearance.

As an example, the basic dungeon doors (both standard width variants) can be used in any set up. Even Sci-Fi in a pinch. The MBS on the other hand [essentially] works fine for dungeons but is clearly out of place in Sci-Fi or at least for non-tatooine settings...*Chuckle*... And similarly, DoE works great in Dungeons too, can work in Sci-Fi I guess though I have not tried to date. And, finally, even the Sci-Fi force fields can be dropped into a fantasy Portcullis. Which proves that--even though they do not go all the way to the floor--a little creativity can go a long way for mixing and matching.

However, the need for double doors that look natural in a typical fantasy dungeon cannot easily be overlooked. So, I am hoping, that these will work for other sets too? The curious want answers...*Grin*...
