DOUBLE DOORS!!?!??!!!?!?!?!

That's IT! I have GOT to get my sets now!
And one will HAVE to get either a full-bore Roman paint job, or SOMETHING Indiana Jones-ian!
Or, perhaps, Zoroastrian? Anybody got a textbook on ancient Persian demonology handy?

Will double doors be the only option for a doorway in ROTA? Will you be producing a single door with some walls on the side to allow for a 2 inch wide coverage but only one inch of it being a door?

Quite honestly, we didn't think there would be so much interest in doors, since we thought about this set as being sort of like a ruin...an ancient, found place, and so, doors would have long since deteriorated with time...the doors included in the ROTA-2 are the sort of doors that would not deteriorate completely with time....I suppose that any other doors found in an adventure there might be newer doors made by newer occupants, and so the doors from our other sets might apply?
If there really is so much want for doors, we can include a bunch in a third ROTA set, as the second one has been wrapped up already...

Well, I agree that RotA is not for usual door, but... I can imagine ruins with magical gates long time sealed... must have! :-)

Greetings, by the way, I have my 2 sets (plus skeletons) pre-order done... ├╝ber-amazing set!!!

I also thought of the sliding inserts as the doors. I like the idea of these massive walls sliding out of the way to allow adventurers to continue.

I think including doors, archways, portals, swing stone door/walls, etc will do a lot to "complete" the environ and also make it more flexible.

It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be in Ruin. Although, adding some seriously crumbled and deconstructed walls and corners would add to that imagery.

I think perhaps a large round door that rolled to the side would be cool.

Yeah i have liked that idea for a while in either Sci-fi (hatches) or what made me think of it was a discovery show cities of the underground a year or so ago that had these caves with doors like that (some sort of emergency hidy hole for the natives)...

I'm with Jeff - simply thought the "Walls sliding up into ceiling" was the door sealing off hidden areas....

Great news to hear there is ALREADY a set two for RoTA!!!

Well, there's a coolness to that, but I also think doors would be nice. Sure, this set is meant to be a kind of ruin, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be ABLE to make a less-ruined layout with it. I'm glad doors are included in the expansion, but I'd have loved to have seen them in the initial offering.

To be honest, this is the first setting DF has released that HASN'T had me drooling over possible additions. It's not because I don't love the set -- far from it! It's just that, unlike some of the other releases... I don't think I have the imagination to see how this could be improved. It simply doesn't appear to be MISSING much.

I mean, sure there are one or two basic things that could be added -- doors, clearly, but also a staircase piece and maybe a fountain or something. OK, sure. And maybe some columns, free standing columns that basically mirror the appearance of the embedded ones. Fine.

But beyond that...? I don't know. All I can think of are various murals for walls and floors. I suppose that cool swiveling medallion piece could be indicative of just how "out there" and unexpected some of the additions could be... It certainly doesn't seem like the MBS or the dungeon setting, where there are just TONS of location-specific add-ons and accessories that would be great to see. Or even the caverns. This already feels pretty complete to me...!

I'm going to have REAL trouble waiting till Feb. And then who KNOWS when I'll have time to paint it up!?!?
