I'll second waza's comments.

Buying one or two sets really suck when it comes to postage. I always try to maximize my orders and get usuall more than five sets to minimize the effect of postage, and even then, it still costs almost one DF set per box set....ie almost double the cost of items purchased per box once the postage is factored in.

Before anyone starts, please note, I realise this isn't DF's fault and we've covered this all before. Just wish there was some way of minimizing shipping costs so we can spend more with DF rather than on the postal system

The Advanced Builder Set 2 won't be able to ship until March, but perhaps we can extend the free "limited edition" pieces that come with the RotA until March for orders outside of the USA. We can probably also give you a coupon code that will subtract $30 off of the purchase if you buy the 3 sets. This is the pricing you would get if you ordered during the pre-order time. The bad effect is that you would have to wait until March to see any of the sets. There is also a slight possibility that we could sell out of the sets by March. We would issue a warning via newsletter and Forum post if we hit the "100 sets left" mark.

I still don't understand why when our economy is in better shape than yours it's the value of our $ that drops)
Because when the world economy goes down, money s consolidated into a few major currencies (the dollar being one of them)

Really Looking forward to using this set for Dioramas, as well as for Ad&d adventure set ups. Great detail, offering tons of possibilities for adventures and settings.
I'm sure it will be worth the wait, but damn, hurry them up, I'm about to start a new Campaign....

Oh, man, the limited edition pieces given for purchasing 3 sets is bad news for me. I would rather prefer to buy them even if every piece is expensive, because the shipping costs would be terrible for 3 sets, and I'm sure I could (or shouldn't) afford 3 sets anyway (plus the AB 2 or course)...

Greetings,

Lupus -

I'm REALLY not ragging on you, but you might want to try what Thod and I did one time.
Establish a TRUST relationship with someone here in the States, someone you trust well enough to have your stuff shipped to them from the Fulfillment Center in Tennessee. That person then ships BY CHEAPEST METHOD to you, and you pay them back for that cost, either in cash or in something that they want and YOU can get CHEAP and send them cheap.
Just a suggestion, and I'm not volunteering this time, but if you DO find someone to set it up with, you will find it's worth it. But make SURE it's someone you trust. 'Cause we're talking serious money here.
And, as cool as that RotA looks, do me a favor, please; DON'T trust ME! PLEASE don't trust me! I can only resist temptation for so long!

Stefan,

Good news on the production save, not to mention a ROTA 2 already in the works. Excellent, and hey I love the new (ROTA 1.5?...*Grin*...) look of the mosaic. It reminds me a lot of those bank-like buildings you see in older cities that make use of 1920s & 30s era structures. They look worn and elegant at the same time. All you need to do is release a LE Art Deco-esque elevator to complete the transformation!

Plus, the amount of detail in the sculpts certainly leaves lots of room for those that wish to pull more detail out of the mosaics to do so. Just a bit of paint could totally change the whole feel of the piece. Very nice.

Cannot wait to find out what the surprises might be for 2009 as well...*Woot*...!

maj!

Jim,
Thats actually not a bad suggestion :) Might have to look into it and see what can be done.

Never actually considered the idea before, specially since I've always been eager to grab new sets as soon as they are released. However, on saying that, if I need the odd set or piece, this might be a very very good suggestion :)

Thanks

Why would it be cheaper for Lupus to have his order sent to someone in the states, and then that person send it to him? He would have to pay shipping to get it to the guy in the states, and then pay shipping again to get it from the first guy to him overseas. Can't DF just send it to him directly in whatever manner is cheapest? Sorry if I missed something earlier about DF shipping. Do they have to use an expensive method or something?

Well I do not know if they HAVE to use the most expensive method but there Warehouse person or shipper might have a contract with UPS.

UPS Ground isn't bad if you live in the Lower 48 States but can be a little much outside that. I do see where they are coming from to since I do not believe it is actually Jeff or Stephen doing the shipping of the product, but a "third party" distributor.

Plus trust me it probably would be cheaper for him to get it sent to a friend in the states then shipped to him via USPS. My last order I saved around $200 dollars having it done this way. My order was even in three different boxes and all came to me priority mail. Around $35 to be sent to my mother-in-laws then $125 to me (three boxes of 7 sets, which two were the "double thick" boxes.) The DF shipping calculator was quoting me at $400 and change when I filled my street address into it. With coustomes I am sure the saving would be a little less but still there would be a savings.
