Well I'll ask Jeff or Stephan if they mind me posting the pictures I got of the RotA. Plus they have the advance for the Advance Builder Set II on display as well. Pretty cool.

For the folks who have used the Classic Dungeon for a first floor on a building you now have a window and there are numerous other pieces that will help out with doing...well ADVANCE DUNGEONS! :)

Just got back from Gen Con last night, Great seeing and talking with everyone...sold a bunch of Gamma Sets, WooHoo! and had quite a few "newbies" just starting to collect! Our biggest order was somewhere in the $1600 range! It was a great Gen Con!

Thanks everyone for keeping our dream alive!

A few more pics for y'all....

Well I did $660 then made an order on the site for $200 so you guys had a good weekend! That is outstanding....it means more DF stuff coming! :)

Did you have fun as well though Stefan? Then the other guy I dealt with him both times and didn't manage to get his name. I think he was wearing Jeff's badge unless he is also named Jeff. I know he did some of the NDS stuff that I really wanted to try as well but just never managed to get time to do it with everything else going on. :)

Never did get to do the True Dungeon thing and will have to sulk on that for awhile though.

The Last Picture answered a question i was going to ask.

I had noticed that the kind of Room/"t" passage (exitwise anyway) bits had what looked like "slots" along the wall, and i was wondering if there was going to be a slide in device (kind of like the Sci-Fi doors) that would fill in that spot to make for walls, or other itemts that could go in there, doors, etc. And it looks like in the last picture there is infact such a wall that slides in. Very nice and interesting inovation for increased options, (imagine a set of just wall slides to increase diversity for the rooms) very interesting new design element.

GS,

Yeah, that was what I was talking about too. Do you recall a few years back--2 or 3--when we were all discussing options for new "Room" sets with Stefan? The idea was that instead of dedicated rooms like the Ogres Den for instance, larger more generic types of rooms could be possible. Having wall sections like we are seeing in RotA could be an example of this concept.

I would love to see more of this style of design in the future. It could really make laying down larger layouts go a whole lot faster. Imagine 2 or 3 different "Generic" rooms, maybe a 6x6, 6x10, and 12x12, or similar. Each with wall sections that were modular like the junctions in RotA are going to be. Such sets would be a real revolution in terms of functionality...

Yes. I wanted to do this a long time ago.....there was a notion about it even at the very beginning 13 years ago....our only problem is warpage of the polyester resin. This small size is OK and perhaps even a 6x6 room...but anything larger would have to be done in segments I think...although, still do-able:) versatility won out at that time......nobody has complained about the larger cavern Sets...perhaps we could/should do large room pieces.....I suppose this is an experiment of sorts in that direction, as are the 6x6 floor tiles and 6" long walls...large pieces could be especially suited to Limited Edition designs....

Stefan,

I did not realize that warping was an issue, though I clearly recall your early ideas on larger rooms from the pre-forum days.

You mention no one complaining about the 4x4 cavern pieces or the 6x6 floors, and I have to agree. I have plenty of both now and have had no issues with either. Is there a difference in warping between say a 6x6 floor piece versus a 6x6 room? I have no idea and you have a lot of experience now with different casts in terms of strength, warp, and so forth.

I had not considered segments or more "Modular"--like this stuff is not already wonderfully modular..*grin*--room elements, but that could be an interesting approach for the really big stuff. I know that I prefer--and have frequently gone on record saying that--building rooms with the 4x6, 6x6, and 6" walls over piecemealing with a larger number of 2x2 floors is much easier and faster.

Not that I am giving grief over the 2x2's... They are by far the most versatile of all of the pieces and I use them and love them dearly. And, as you say, the larger pieces could be a great focus for future LEs! *Woot*...

Anyway... Thanks again for the early prviews, and for taking the time to discuss this stuff with us. It really is most excellent to have an open dialog going with an artist of your calibur. It also makes it that much more of a personal experience when using this great product on the gaming table.

Ah i had not realised that was what you ment with "- The corridor system looks very nifty indeed! I can see a lot of potential here for drop in walls in the corridor openings. If these will be a part of the set, then corner, T-junction, and 4-ways could be efectively turned into "Small rooms" by blocking unused openings."
Since i have some HA, "free standing walls" and there are the free standing walls from the Cavernous rivers that is what i was thinking of, when you mentioned walls, i hadn't looked that close at the pictures before then and seen the slots untill yesterday.

Yeah it is cool looking set, my only quibble with it, is that darn it's a Ruin. I would love to see this set at it's builders height of power and pre ruined, that's not to say the ruins are not very nice looking. It's just that a Realms of the Ancients would be very nice looking as well.

I have to say, these look cool, and it's something I've always wanted.

When you make the big setups, cool floor patterns really stand out, as they do in DoE. This will look really cool next year.
