Well, judging from that pic, I'd say the ABS2 is going to give us what we REALLY need to make the dungeon sets perfect -- "filler" pieces to integrate the passage elements. Seems like they come in two varieties -- what we need to fill the space around the passages themselves, and also a way to place passages up against the corners of rooms, instead of having to give them a little "wiggle room" at the corners.

Very nice. I think I see what you were talking about before -- this set is going to be very useful, but to be fair, it's coming out right alongside the gorgeous Ancients set, it's not going to get the same intense raves. But it does look like a fantastic addition to the setting...

WOW !!! I cannot wait for the Realm of the Ancients !!!!

IT WILL BE MINE AND IT WILL BECOME THE "REALM OF THE MIKE" !!!!! BU HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!!!!!

Um ... yeah ... sorry ... so ...

I'll have to let the future picture teases hold me over 'til the end of the year !!!!

OH, and I LOVE the look of the bowtie-less sets !! I'd better dig out the epoxy putty and get to work !!!

So, let me officially retract my earlier comment about 2008 being a dull DF year .... bad, Mike, bad .... ye of little faith !!!!

I agree L, for those that want to make large dungeons with no "holes" the ABS2 set is a GODSEND!!! Ironically I recently ordered aprox. 100+ pieces of the conversion pieces that Tony Griffon makes to do the same thing with my SCI-FI passages, increasing the much needed floor space I will need for these GAMMA sets.
While not as glamourous as the other sets, the ABS2 will definately be a GREAT set.

Of course the Ancients will be amazing, but really, did anyone expect anything less?
(Stefan be careful, every time you raise the bar, it will be harder to top it!)

All of it looks great guys. I'll be firing up an order soon enough.

Ancients looks awesome. It's gonna be great to have something more fancy to break up the dungeons. Righteous.

I can certainly see the advanced builder set being useful. But the Ancient line looks so cool. I love that with Dwarven Forge they manage to give you one lines of products that are both incredibly well detailed but also just generic enough you can instantly see them in three or four different roles.

Stefan,

Ya done it to me AGAIN!!

EVERY time I think I've finally gotten finished buying Dwarven Forge,
BANG!!!
Here comes another set to make me buy more!
I had already decided on the Sci-Fi Gamma set; NOW, you drop that ABS2 on me, and then that BEAUTIFUL RotA teaser sketch pic!
OWWWW-WOWWWWWTCH! My wallet just went into terminal panic attack!
I've got another DF Jones attack. I may even have to get some Chasm stuff (which I managed to avoid, so far - but the itch is creeping up my spine).

I'll never get out of hock at this rate - but I'm gonna die happy!
Or anyway, I'll die giggling insanely; one or the other.

Oh...btw...Stefan has come up with an awesome idea for the passageways in the RotA line. What until you see that!

We should have some pics for the first set posted in July...and we should have a proof set on display at Gen Con in August.

I'm going to have to mortgage my soul at this rate!

But heck, I'm hardly using it, and I use my Master Maze every other week, so it'd be a fair trade.

GENCON can't wait to see it. In fact I might just be one of the mass freaks that are waiting at the door to get into the vendor area on the first day. We will see.

Of course didn't get into the True Dungeon this year with my whole group, so am disappointed about that. Might still try to get in it as a "wait" list but...yea.

Hard earned money is going to be spent. Of course now it isn't 100% free checking the second baggage in but still can maybe mail it myself. Another thing we will see....

Oh yea is there any chance you will have the boxes of walls for caverns that come in the River set. Like the ones you got extra for ordering sets of three of the chasm set?

I guess if you don't I would be just forced to buy more of the River sets. :O)

Wow, nobody has said much about this comment... seems like a real invitation for speculation.

I'd say there are two "obvious" guesses:

1. Secret doors. The passageways, which of course (given how ABS2 looks, and how the caverns and MBS stuff have been done) will be capable of being placed directly alongside any DF element, will have secret passages IN them, so you can move from one place to another through them.

2. Traps. The holes in the walls? Spears go through them. Plus pits, swinging blades, whatever.

Beyond that.. hmmm.. tough to guess.

I did notice that the top of the wall appears designed to look appropriate as a ceiling if there is another piece placed on top...
