Thanks for adding this (cavern) piece and the special water pieces into the upcoming Water set. I'm sure they will all be AWESOME additions.

That being said, there are just so many different CWA pieces needed I hope there will be a complete CWA Set produced as well.

Well - the player didn't do the math. He just looked at the layout - saw some water inbetween - and just.

I just tried to do the math and get approx. to the following results (D&D 3rd edition)

Human with base speed 30 needs a jump check of 30 to cross 15 feet
For a dwarf with base speed 20 this goes up to 44
If I calculate heavy armour and base speed of 15 this goes to 60

The difference between a standing start and a running start is an extra 4, 6 or 8 based on base speed.

With his skill and strength he got a +6 on the roll.

So depending on the scenario I use (no - he definately isn't a human) we are talking a roll of 38 on a d20 in the most optimistic case and a roll of 62 on the same d20 if I rule standing start and base speed 15.

And the funny bit is - this was his second failed jump over water. He had an earlier attempt to jump a smaller 10 feet channel from my sewer set. This one was an impossible jump as there was an invisible barrier preventing to cross by any person or item (only magic would reach through). He figured this one out when he bounced back and took 5 points of damage running into a 'wall'.

He actually might have been short already on that attempt - but I didn't bother to check how far he would have jumped.

Needless to say - it was an entertaining evening.

Actually, jumping is simpler in 3.5 edition. Movement rates gives a modifier for Jump checks (-6 for each 10 feet of movement less than 30 feet), so Dwarves can't jump worth a darn (-6 penalty for 20 foot base move + armor check penalties). Barbarians, Monks, and Scouts get great Jump modifiers for fast movement.

I had a monk in my game leap up to swat a flying imp with her quarterstaff, which made for a cool visual.

Yes, Jeff...the natives are getting restless here. Even if you do not have all the details ironed out yet, can we see some teaser pics, please? :)

Thank You!

My two cents: cave entrance
What would a cave entrance be that you can't do with the stalactite wall from the cavernous rivers and walls set?

I'm currently running my players through a big cave (roughly 3' x 6') built from two cave sets, two cavernous passage, two river, and three lake sets, and I really can't think of anything that's missing.

As far as the water expansion, a less abrupt shore might be interesting - something suggesting a transition through sand or mud from the water to the stone floor, anything that could slow the adventurers down.

I'm not sure it's "missing" but more variety in walls, different corners or turn angles, more/different linkers to other sets (DoE, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, MBS,) Cavernous pasages, Floors with features, walls with features, Accessories, Filler bits. Are things i can think of that don't exist, could use more of/variety on.
