I just logged on to use my Newsletter coupon and pick up a few more open water tiles and, lo and behold - THERE AINT NO MORE!

Any chance, Jeff or Stefan, that those will be restocked?

Thats what i get for procrastinating!

Sorry...no more until probably May or June. If it is any consolation...I did not get any either for myself! I am smart? Not so much.

I had visions of a long river with a big lake at the end with a large island in its middle.

I think we can get some more in June...perhaps even a bulk discount may be offered as a special deal on large orders...I realize the cost seemed dis-proportionate for the pieces, especially the open water piece, which SEEMS quite simple, but actually the production cost is very high on these kind of pieces...however, I think as a special offer we may decide to make a much smaller margin for the sole sake of making it more affordable to create large lakes.
We don't usually aim to make small margins (or we wouldn't be in business) but in this special case we may decide to make an exception.

What???

I just purchased 70 of these individual lake tiles (54 and 16 respectively) at $15 a piece!

Although I realised/knew that $15 a piece was a "premium" cost to say the least, I forked out this money anyway because I really wanted these pieces for my collection and was informed that this may be a one-off opportunity and advised to get them if I really wanted them. I did not buy these over the last few weeks because I wanted them now, I purchased them because I wanted them -period.

I had even asked for clarification regarding the re-stock possibilities and received no updated information regarding this later shipment until after these were sold-out/purchased.

Stefan, Jeff: I am glad that they will be re-stocked for others to acquire, and that they will be of a more affordable price. In fact, I may get a few more myself.

That being said, it now appears that I may be significantly, out-of-pocket as a result of this miscommunication, especially when considering the possibility of bulk discounts as well.

Will there be any sort of coupon or accomodation for those who mistakenly purchased bulk pieces already as these extra costs could be in the hundreds (54x?$) in my case-depending upon the future price and bulk discounts of the open water pieces?

I am by no means asking for the price difference, I am only asking for some accomodation to offset a bit of the "premium" price recently paid by those who were unaware of this upcoming shipment and purchased these in quantities already.

Any response or considerations would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Steve.

Well, I'm not trying to step on your toes, Steve, but there might never have been a consideration of future restocking of these tiles and commensurate discounts if they hadn't sold out so fast. And you buying 70 of them certainly contributed to that, as well as contributing to possibly many people not getting some for themselves.

Just my 2cp.

Agreed. I understand where Wereweasel is coming from, and perhaps DF will approach him about it.
However, I was only able to purchase 2 of them at the current price and under my current circumstances. If the product hadn't sold out so quickly, DF might not have restocked them, or in lesser quantity, and probably would not offer a discount at all until they has sat around in the warehouse for 2+ years.

In any case, thank you to those who did make it a sell-out and made it so DF saw that these pieces would be welcomed additions.

Okay...now what about those free-standing wall sets?
The river curve sets?
The new lake pieces we talked about so you can build a lake that goes every which way?

I have NO idea where I'm getting the money for all this, except more credit.

62 sets and counting. In addition, a boatload of individual pieces or sets of pieces.

I think what Stefan is refering to is a special set of 10 or so OpenWater tiles that are packaged together. We talked about this for possiblely this summer. The cost savings would be in the packaging and handling -- not so much in us taking less of a margin <elbows Stefan in the ribs...mutters something about "crazy">.

Steve, please write me if you see this set come to fruition and we will cut you a good deal.

Sorry Jeff:(

(I should have realized this would get me in trouble) I have to refrain from leaking high level security news from afar...there is a reason Jeff is in control of the business descisions...otherwise we may be in trouble again. Just wanted to help those without lots of open water to realize their dreams...didn't mean to open the floodgates to ruin. ..

AstroCat;

While for the dam to fill, go exploring the cave above the rock wall where the dam was built. You might find something cool, something wild, something interesting . . .

Ya never know WHAT is lurking inside a cave over a lake being formed by a dam.

Anyway, that's what I'D do if I wanted to run an adventure that needed water but couldn't get it yet; IMPROVISE, my friend; improvise.
Besides, it gives you a chance to spend money on cavern stuff (unless you already have it) and, pardon the expression, scare the pi$$ out of your gamers!
Have you ever walked into a clean, dry cave, gone 'just past' the end of the sunlight coming in the mouth of the cave, and realized that smell was carnivore halitosis. And the walls were getting closer. And wet. And warm. And the ground was AWFULLY SOFT. . .

Wait for it . . .

THIS isn't a cave...

Uh, Oh!!

(massive scramble to get OUT of the Dragon's mouth alive!)

See ya!
