The inventory still says 50, so maybe they got in more than they were letting on?

Well I just got 20 Open and 4 Shore pieces so I have what I absolutely needed.

If there are any still around (or available) in the future, I'll get the additional number of pieces I want.

Now, I can't wait for the Wicked Waters Set.

Wow Wereweael - how big a lake are you planning to make - I figured a total of 16 would be enough for me (to make a 4 by 4 sized lake centre).

Canals frequently take more pieces to do effectively than a large lake set-up, especially if your canals branch or intersect.

Nice but WOW ... at $15 a piece it puts them out of my price range given the number I'd like to get ... I'll have to come up with some other method to do my canals and put the $300 towards other, more useful (to me) DF sets (especially before the '07 price increase).

Would I like 20 or more ... absolutely ... but,

Sorry guys, they're not worth the per-piece cost to me ... I can't believe I just typed that (am I <gulp> becoming fiscally responsible?!) ... and that's coming from someone who's spent over $4K on Dwarven Forge !!!

Dave,

I plan to make a number of large, subterranean lake setups. Some of the more specific ideas that I know will consume quite a few of the Open Water pieces are...

A smugglers cove leading to open water, and ending at the table's edge.

A ruinous/sunken subterranean fortress/city.

Two separate shores of a HUGE underwater lake (represented by a 4"=1 mile of water "gap" in the middle).

A distant island in a lake, being either mystical, perilous or fortified.

An MBS or hut-styled "Lake Town" constructed on a couple of the Le max wooden wharf sets.

And the port/mooring area of a coastal town.

Since I already had 16 straight shore pieces (vs 8 Open Water) I decided to buy heavily in favour of the Open Water to compensate - on this occasion. I have little doubt that I will be using these pieces as much (or more) than most of my other DF pieces.

That being said, I really like the ratio/selection you chose. I think with all that shoreline and water together, you'll have a lot of winding, ribbon-type lakes or archipelagos with massive variations and plenty of atmosphere. I can't wait to see the results!

On a similar note, if I don't get a digicam for Christmas, then I'll get a few pics of mine somehow.

Steve.
