OMG... this is SO freakin' cool. Lots of great additions to an already awesome set.

O.k.--I have to offer my honest opinion here on one of the items: the pillar. I don't like it--for a number of reasons. Keeping in mind that this is a fantasy set, I still can't get my brain around the idea of a pile of stones supporting a ceiling. It looks like it would be more suited for an underground alcove/cave/dungeon than the inside of a half-timbered building. I LOVE the cross beams that jut out from the top, I hate the stones. I was really hoping to see a rough wooden beam.

PERFECT!

An amazing selection of essential building items (and apparently more to come).

I got five of the first MBS and will certainly be getting four or five of these as well asap.

Great stuff.

Wow! That second pic is even better than the first! The close-up of the door (and latch!!! :) ) and then the really great railing AND the super-amazing candle! FANTASTIC!

Seriously, this is one of hte best expansions DF has ever done. It stands up there with the Wicked sets for just all-time fantastic stuff, the kind of stuff that people are going to immediately be drawn to when they look at a setup. "Oh, check out the little candle!" Man, that is outstanding.

I cannot cannot cannot WAIT to get this set. After such an expansive (expEnsive) summer, it's great to have even more DF coolness on the horizon....

The Pillar actually looks great inside the standard dungeon walls...in fact, there are a number of pieces in this set that can be used for both. I can understand the criticism...perhaps we can do another type of pillar structure (all wood) in a future MBS set...I still think it looks kool though mood wise...imagine a wooden beam in the middle, surrounded by stones just for aesthetic purposes...

Adding my 2 cents. It looks great. Railing, depending if it is stand alone or attached could also be a ladder. Love the fireplace with the boar's head. Nice details all around. Thanks for your creativity.

Stefan,

While I'm not quite as far against the pillar as Dante is, because I can see how it IS useful for other areas, I'll probably build my own wooden columns for large rooms.

But, I'm DEFINITELY going to get multiple MBS Expanders, and probably some more MBS starters as well, because THIS is the one add-in that DF has sorely needed - and you've done it!

And once I get to work on ROOFS (or you do), I can sell all my Armorcast and Pegasus Hobbies buildings - because they just won't fit the new ones you're building for me!

Or maybe not; they'll still work from a distance. Hmmm. . . .

Great job, Stefan.
And Jeff; great job, giving him a free rein to go play. But then, that's one reason why he teamed up with you, so he could be creative, and YOU could have the business headaches!

Poor Jeff.

See ya!

I'm right about where Jim is on the pillar issue. It's a good pillar, and it fits across multiple sets, but [okay, time to stop before I start second-guessing the artist].

This is why I like the idea of a Pillars Set. It could have the existing styles, PLUS a couple of new styles. (And you can never have too many pillars.)

Oh, I get it!

I already stated my reservations about the pillar -- I like it, but like some others, I had been hoping for a wooden one so I could make Hrothgar Hall or some such thing.

HOWEVER -- thinking about using these pieces in the regular dungeon setting makes me think that this pillar is really the better choice. A wooden pillar might work in the regular dungeons, as well, of course, but this looks like it could be a realy cool addition and be a little more unexpected. (Face it, guys -- Stefan is an artist, so he's gonna have an intrinsic resistance to giving us exactly what we expect each time at bat...)

(I just mixed my metaphors in the worst possible way, didn't I?)

(well, only the end was a metaphor, but it was still ill chosen)

I just hope you don't make the candle TOO small, Stefan! I liked what I saw there! True, it may be out of scale -- but so are the coins in the treasure pile! So is a lot of stuff - we have to be able to SEE it, after all! ;)
