Don't get me wrong, Jeff. I like this set, and I think it was better to release this set before the Room Set, because even though lacking those 6" walls the size of the rooms may be limited, the variety of rooms we will now be able to build is more important to me. But I do look forward to 6" walls. I wish the original DoE set had more walls and less passages, but given what we have now, I think your decision to do Wicked Additions first and Room Set second is probably correct.

On another note, RabidFox, I certainly can see how some parents would not like the DoE set, though personally I don't understand it. To each his own, I guess. I for one, since I use Dwarven Forge for D&D, need sets that look "evil" to represent the bad guys my players will face. I'm assuming those parents that were shocked by DoE would never let their kids play D&D, since DoE is pretty tame compared to the images in most any D&D book.

I have to say when i got the e-mail yesterday and i looked over the list i was like, "HUH, no pure 6inch walls?" Though i think we kind of saw this comming as there were no long walls in the pre-view pics that many of us picked apart for hours looking over to see what was from where.

I will be getting 2 (not till the end of the month, Bounty Hunters really hit my bank account....)

kind of disapointed that there are no long walls, but many of the other items are very interesting and cool in there own right, and i guess being a Sci Fi user i am used to having big floors with not enough walls right away so it doesn't phase me as much, glad to see they are comming though.

The height options are cool, but it is always nice to have a big space easily enclosed so hope they are an early 2007 product (the Doe long wall). becuase Long walls are just Soooo use full in setting up something decent sized Fast.

I concur with the others: a DoE Room Set would be much appreciated. Maybe for a later project?

That said, what I've seen of the DoE-WA1 looks really, really good. I intend to purchase. :)

Again, Stefan, Jeff and DF Staff: my thanks. You do an amazing job!

I just purchased 2 of the Wicked Additions sets. Now just to eagerly await their arrival, and the availability of preorder for whatever Dwarven Forge offers up next to its customers.

I can understand what DF was going for with this set -- it may be a choice that ever so slightly hurts their short-term sales, but I think in the long run it was a good idea. People who want just room elements aren't gonna want to have to get tons of extra elements, and some people who don't want DoE may still want these elements for other setups, and having a smaller, less-expensive set to close out the year is a good idea. In the end, it's a really well-designed, well-executed set -- it just doesn't fill the needs of all the DoE fans out there.

I really do plan to get one, and I'm excited about it -- I just need to calm down a bit with my spending. But I think this is going to be a solid seller for DF over time.

Don't worry guys, the next container (March) will have the long walls & some other kool (evil) stuff...the design of the long walls is gonna be really, reallly kool and was inspired by my readings of HP Lovecraft...the sculpting is already under way...

Stefan,

LONG Walls? Next container? March?
LOVECRAFT!???!!

OMG, NOW you've really scared the pants off me! (Yeah, I know, guys; 'THAT'S a scary image!' Now shut up and go back to reading your "Gory Ghouls of Ghostville" comic books.)

Okay, you've talked me into at LEAST one set, depending on how the next payday looks. I still have to budget for the trip to SC over Thanksgiving weekend.

See ya!

Nope; Anderson, up in the Piedmont.

C'mon, RF*; can you see ME playing GOLF?!?!?
Or Tennis!?!?!?!

Although, now that I remember, there WAS a Trek novel that involved Combat Golf, with a certain Klingon engineer versus a certain Scottish one...

With a Russian second, who swore the game was inWented by a 'little old lady from Leningrad'.

But, I promise, if I ever DO get to Hilton Head:

I WILL go looking for ComStar HQ, okay? If only to see if Jerome Blake's pre-spirit is haunting the place!

See ya!

I think the set concept and its looks are absolutly fantastic and I will pick up at least one...likely two (though I have absolutly no more need for skelestons...any other incentives available for mutiple packs?)...also do second (third, forth, fifth, etc) the motion regarding walls. I have yet to use the DOE (I bought two) in an actual game setup - mostly because what I wanted out of it was an evil temple type of setup. Without more room set type of pieces I was never satisfied with the layout (I like big!)...the wiked additions set will absolutly add to such a setup (I love the archway, the platform, the steps, curved walls, pillars - all of it - creative kudos to Stephan!) - but yeah - I still feel that I need more wall peices to properly pull it off as envisioned...glad to hear that they will be comming in March....hopefully in time for my eldest's birthday - as we often do a big (D & D based) gaming event using minatures & DF!
