Where are the walls? I have one den of evil set, primarily because I didn't want to get stuck with 30 corridor peices I wouldn't use (Like the 3 room and passage sets I have), and I already don't have enough walls. Now if I buy this set I will have giant floor peices with no walls to enclose them. Seriously, you need to sell us wall peices or release a rooms set.

If I was flush with cash I woul offer to buy the corridor pieces. Then again if I was flush with cash I would probabllt just order more DOE sets.

But I do like the corridors a lot...I just wish there was a 6" straight corridor piece. I hope future sets including corridors include them as a standard feature.

Philip, I share your concern. I do plan to order maybe two of the Wicked Additions, but only in the hopes that DF will make wall pieces available in the future as a Room Set or individual pieces or in some other manner. Otherwise it will be hard to fit these interesting new pieces anywhere if there are not enough walls to enclose them.

Maybe there is a DoE WA2 already in the works with what y'all want, yes?

I just need to remember not to take any more pics of the DoE stuff, new or old, to any more of the game shoppes I go to in the Utah-Idaho-Wyoming tri-state area.
Boy, were there really negative reactions by parents at four different shoppes.

Jeff & Stefan, you certainly named the DoE correctly; "evil" was one of the first words out of six different parents' mouths about how they felt about the new DoE set from the pics from the latest DF newsletter I had printed up to show gamers.
The next sentence out of all of these parents' mouths to their offspring contained theme variations on, "I had better not see anything like that in MY house!"

If that was the reaction to DoE WA you were looking for Jeff & Stefan, you hit it on the head perfectly!
Otherwise, one can just hope these were gamers that were not interested in buying the set anyway.
Moreover, one can hope it is just "a tempest in a teacup" as one of my Great Aunts occasionally says about such negative matters.

Before anyone starts ragging on me about me informing folks about this, like when the original DoE set came out and the reactions I heard, please do not do so this time, okay?
I am just posting the parental reactions I have heard and seen over the last ~36 hours to the DoE WA pics since I printed the DF newsletter and took it to shoppes I go to.
No need to kill the messenger, okay?

Really like the WE1, but one will be enough for me.

I agree with the above, if the (very cool) WE1 arrived
i'm in dear need of some walls.

A set with the following would be cool to be next in DoE line:

2 x 6*4 Floor
6 x 6" Wall
1 x 6" Corridor
4 x Pedestals
4 x 2" Wall with "Evil Eyes" (as Magical Trap / Arrow Loop Wall)
2 x Corridor Dead End

Just my 2 cents on a new set.

I agree with most of the above comments. I'm disappointed to see no walls in the set, and surprised there are no corner pieces too. DoE WA won't make building large rooms any easier for those of us with only one DoE R&P set, and I certainly can't justify getting another R&P just for the walls. Pretty disappointed all round, I'm afraid. Sorry.

I agree with all of you. My great hope about this set was there was more wall pieces, standard or not, but... no wall pieces at all... I'm really sad.

I would not buy this set, at least this year (I have not much money to spend right now), but it's limited edition (probably there will be sets available all next year), it's not an expensive set at all, and one skeleton set for free is something to think about. Is it going to be more expensive if I order next year instead pre-ordering now?

One more thing. I thought that today there would be individual pieces for cavern lake or rivers, so the shipping costs saving worth making the order. But pre-ordering one (top) Evil Additions only because of the free skeletons (which I already have several).. mmm.

I don't know what I'll do.

2 Cents.

I like that set Green Knight! I like it much! really!

Well, what can I say?

Jeff, Stefan, you've disappointed me; I ALSO was hoping for 6" walls; they are VITAL when doing a room with 4" or 6" floor tiles. Besides, MANY of us have berated you here over the past few months (years?) about little-bitty-walls and GREAT BIG FLOORS. I don't mean to lecture, or nag (although almost EVERYONE here will agree I'm good at it!), but c'mon, guy; fix the problem!
I'm still going to order one DoE WA, if only for the platforms & pedestals (AND that NEW Demon Arch!); but I'm afraid the multi-set order just went out the door.

But this DOESN'T mean I'm abandoning DF! You can't get rid of me THAT easy!

See ya!

If this set had contained a load of walls, I might have been tempted to buy a couple, along with 2 sets of the original DoE.

It hasn't so I won't.
Sorry DF.

I would still like to be able to buy the large floor and pillars separately though, to evil up my regular dungeon line.

Youch!

Well, I am definitely going to get one -- but not yet. Finances are tight, and DoE has always been a set I go warm and cool on -- it's really great when I'm in the mood, but lately I haven't been feeling it. Too much fun being had with the other sets right now! And too broke from getting them all....

As for the comments by folks around RF's parts -- you know, the first time this came up, I admit I felt a little scornful. I am a rationalist as far as I believe it possible, which is pretty darn far. And I like to see reason and evidence for claims, and frankly, I don't see any here. No respectable study has shown any link between any kind of problem and exposure to something like this -- people read Stephen King, and watch Hellraiser, and play D&D, and grow up fine. If anything, the improvements to one's vocabulary, abilities with statistics, and imaginative problem-solving skills that result from exposure to a good game of D&D is far more important to think about, in my mind, than any devilish implications. It just has no basis in fact, no evidence supports the fear that any harm can come from this. I don't know, even, if any study has been done to show that one's religious beliefs or respect for religion is undermined by it. It's possible, and if there was a study done, I'm sure RF knows about it. But until there's some reason to believe there's a correlation between this and something else, this concern sounds to me like nothing more than what philosophers call emotivism -- a moral judgment that amounts to nothing more than "I don't like it!"

Which is fine, too, really. And that's my point.

Because, before anyone jumps all over me on this one -- this time around, I'm totally fine with it and I do not see a problem at all. This set isn't MADE for children, so there really is no reason for children to have it. If parents don't want to have it in their house, good for them! Let them raise their kids however they want. This was never meant as a product for children, any more than beer or guns or porn, so it really is the least controversial thing in the world to suggest that they shouldn't have it, as far as I'm concerned.
Is anyone out there really all that determined to go to war over the need to distribute guns, alcohol and porn to little kids? I don't know, in a country this big, almost certainly there is. But let's ignore them.

My kids, of course, when they do exist, are gonna love this stuff, probably. If not, that's fine too. But however it works out, that's fine. I just can't get worked up about it, for some reason. Just to run the risk of making this even more controversial, I'll add -- maybe it's because I'm Jewish. At least where I grew up, and this is a serious religious community with lots of people who won't drive on Saturday and observe kosher laws etc, I don't think there was ever a parent who worried about demons. SAT scores kept them up every night once their kids turned 16 or so, but demons, not so much an issue. I'm sure there are some members of the tribe who get very worked up about it, though, so there you are.

Thanks for your thoughts about the new DoE Wicked Additions Set.

I am sorry that some of you were disappointed by the fact that we did not release a Room Set. When this set was being formed, we decided that Wicked Addition type of pieces were more needed to do some cool set-ups. So we went with the ability to go vertical (pillars, stairs, platforms, stairs down) as well as a few little additions. The four Curved Corners (and their half floor counterparts) are the only room-type pieces in the set. Also, please keep in mind that these pieces work well OUTSIDE the DoE setting -- and they lend a very cool look to some fantasy set-ups. It would have been much faster and easier for us to release a "Room Set", but we could did not want to pass by this chance to do something really creative. So ,we are delaying a "Room Set" type of release until next time.

I wish we would have had the "room" to do more room-type pieces in this set, but we REALLY wanted to release a lower-cost set since we had so many more expensive sets out this year. We could not do both.

This set was about making more creative set-ups -- and not about making bigger rooms. We have a second DoE set being sculpted right now that will address that need. Stefan has come up with a very cool design for the 6" walls -- as well as a few other do-dads. This set should be out in the summer.

Thanks again for your feedback, and thanks for listening to ours.
