Will DwarvenForge be coming to Dragoncon this weekend? My wife gave me a budget of ~$300 to spend on stuff and I would like to buy DF stuff if I can otherwise I will likely try to fill in my terrain and dungeon filler needs (sooo jealous of all the neat stuff I see on this stie.)

Dunno if DF is coming to Atlanta or not, but if they DON'T, you can always order on-line. Either way, you'll get some GREAT STUFF!!!!

See ya!

Yea if I can't find anything I want at Dragoncon I will likely order some cavern stuff online. It just that with them being online only it would be nice to have the opportunity to check the stuff out in person at a con relatively close to me.

We are NOT coming to DragonCon. We did it a few years back, and the sales were poor. Not our cup of tea.

Sorry!

Maybe I should just order what I want and claim I had it "shipped" from the con.

How can a gigantic three hotel convention not be your cup of tea? Isn't Dragoncon bigger than Gencon?

But its focus is not gaming philip.

Dragon*con's focus is Sci-Fi and Fantasy in general with a huge primary emphasis on TV and movies and a just barely less emphasis on published fiction in both novel and comic form.
Gaming is a very distant fifth and I am still not sure it is that high from my two prior attendances.
Actually philip, this is their own description from their home page:
Dragon*Con is America's largest, multi-media, popular arts convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film.
Told ya!
Gaming is early on the list, but that list is not in order of priorities from what I have seen there in my two visits over the years.

If y'all do not believe me, just go through the Dragon*Con's special guest list; a con's special guest list always shows the emphasis(es) of the con.
Looks like maybe one gaming person for every eight other special guests at best from my quick browse of the huge list of this year's special guests.

Maybe one day Dragon*Con will be worth DF's attendance.
At this time, I would rather see them attend GenCon SoCal whose primary emphasis without a doubt is gaming philip.

We went to Dragon Con one year together with Thunderbolt Miniatures and shared a booth. We sold about 1/30 the amount of what we usually sell at Gen Con. Also, our Truck got broken into and stuff was stolen...Perhaps one day we will give it a shot again, perhaps combined with someone else and probably without taking any inventory...but it's a long shot...

Just out of curiousity (as I'm getting back into gaming), where can I find the list of different cons to go to? I always seem to find out about them too late :(

The National Gamers Guild has a decent general list:
www.nggnet.com/features/Conventions.htm
There are links to the WEB pages of all of the cons listed.
This is in no way comprehensive.
The East Coast US con for GZG games and figures (GZG-ECC [#X is the 2007 con]) is not on the list for one example (that con is held in PA typically if anyone is interested).

Also, go to the WEB pages of the game companies you like best; many have a schedule of cons they plan to attend in the next six months or so listed.
It sometimes appears that some companies think it should be a great secret where they are going to be.
It is more likely the case they never even thought to have a list on their page; give them a telephone call for info.
I find the European companies are much more efficient in keeping an up-to-date list of cons they will be attending on their WEB pages than their American counterparts.

Dragon con is a very poor con for a gamer. I was disappointed the first time I went as I had different expectation (mostly due to the name of the dang thing). I was just hoping they would be coming. I think I will go for Gencon in a year or two.
