So...what do you guys think?

Was it worth the wait?

Do you think you will get a set?

Please chime in.

I just ordered 2. I really had to show some restraint as I purchased 2 CRW sets and also have 2 Lake sets coming. You know how marriage is, with a combined income, mortgage, and all. ;-}~

From the pics that I saw on the site, the set looks great. Reminds me a lot of town settings in many popular computer MUD games (think Everquest and such). I can see using one "permanent" setup for my main adventure tavern, and maybe another building or two for a "provisions store" or other such shoppe (Yes, I used ye olde "shoppe" heh heh...).

I think that the offer for a free Medieval Furniture set AND Dungeon Accessories set is awesome for those who will buy three sets. I wish there would have been a little "gimme' " in the actual set though--a broken table or something to add character (like the impromptu raft in the CRW set). Still, I'm sure these will get lots of use based on the way I run my games.

The first thing I thought of was, "We need some stairs for this set!" So Stefan and Jeff, please add that to your next expansion for the MBS. Nice wooden staircase to go up and one to go down (to a cellar for example).

I'm sure as I start to explore these pics more (until my sets arrive) I'll think of more goodies that could be added (a nice LARGE stone fireplace with stones like the ones on the dungeon walls immediately comes to mind).

You know what would be really awesome? "Stained glass windows" to insert in the window openings. I'm sure there are some plastic sheets of this somewhere out there I could find. If anybody knows of a good source, please let me know. I plan on adding some sort of window coverings to my sets.

Stefan--here's another idea that would just totally kick ass: Pub & Shop signs. They could be generic so collectors could either paint on their own emblems and names or put inkjet/laser jet emblems and names on them. You might even add one that is pre-painted with the "The Dwarven Forge" on it (name and logo). We'd have something to mount on the outside of the establishments created with these MBS sets.

I know as soon as I submit this I'm going to think of something else really cool that would be great in an expansion set... ;-}~

WOOHOO!

I ordered two!

OK, I've been DYING to say this, but I made myself wait.

I wasn't expecting the wood floor to look like that, but of course once I thought about it, it's genius!

The squares keep the important grid for gaming, but they also make the walls and corners that much more versatile -- if the wood floor had strips going in just one direction, you could only use walls for W/E or N/S but never all four. It would SERIOUSLY limit the utility of the walls. This is a great solution.

As for the rest -- woohoo! Above ground! Bookcases, and a classic secret door design! Windows!

Taverns, inns, cottages, it's all possible!

In some ways, this is a set that we've really needed for the longest time. I'm a huge fan of water environments, so I was really psyched for the cavernous water sets, and the DoE is fun -- but really, after you have dungeons and caverns, you just need medieval buildings to round out the fantasy world. You can now officially game in like 70% of possible fantasy environs with DF (at least, not counting wilderness ones, obviously)

I'm already going nuts -- since I broke down and googled the set a few days ago, I've been buying Reaper bards to join my Reaper townsfolk for the place, and I'm also really excited to try to do a hobbit hole. In fact, that should go up for the official MEdieval Building Expansion set - round corners for hobbit holes! :)

I have been asking for something like this for a long time, but until it happened, I wasn't really thinking about it that much. Now I'm starting to realize just how great this is gonna be. And it works so well with the furniture! There are so many possibilities.

I want RF and other SF gamers to get their SF on in the coming year, but man, before we see almost any other Expansion set, we need some for this. The place needs so much!

I'll have more later- - I came home just to order some sets, I still got stuff to do today...

And I just noticed-- you CAN make a stage! The "inside" of the floor pieces have rivets on them, so you can place floors on top of other floors for diases!

I can't wait to mix the dungeon floors with these guys -- put wooden floors on top of dungeon floors for raised stages, or dungeon floors in wooden rooms for stone patios, put stone steps at the entrance of a room, put lots of floor pieces down for a mini-arena with a stage at the bottom and tiered "steppes" going up to the back....

It's so cool!

Absolutely Amazing!

I’ve been biting my tongue :P for the last week waiting for the rest of the gang to see this incredible new set! These photos are even better than the preliminary ones.

Man… This is going to change things, and the possibilities are going to be endless. I already see balconied taverns with rooms on the second floor, a classic place for a rapier duel. These new pieces themselves look square and level, almost as if they had stacking in mind when being sculpted? I just can’t wait!

In this case here my miniatures have beaten me to the new set… They decided to move the party from the Green Griffon to your place…

GREAT WORK!

Thanks to Invincibleoverlord for supplying some awesome minis for the photos. They really make the sets come alive.

Oh...and you guys will be able to see a whole village put together by IO and Stefan at our Gen Con booth next week. I can't wait!

This set is fantastic, and I'm planning on buying three.

With this set, you can model entire towns! Start a brawl in the Inn, have it spill out into the street where the evildoers take flight through a series of houses, knocking over furnishings and taking people hostage as they try to escape!

I can't wait to see how this set looks alongside my Hirst and MBA buildings on the gaming table.
