You can play around with the shipping calculator to see your various shipping costs based on different sizes of orders, but I don't think larger orders save you a lot of money on shipping -- since rates are based on weight.
I did try, and the relative pourcentage is a lot higher on small orders. So most of the times, I have to wait until I have enough money to make a big order, (and hope they are all available at the same time).
En so, the shipping fee are very high, even in Canada, which is a lot closer than Europe. Add to that the tool fees, last time, it was 80$ on a 500$ order.

First of all "Hello" to all of you, since I just recently joined the customer base and the forum ;-)

Of course I also wondered about the fact that there is no german or european distribution and asked why this is the case. Since then I phoned quite some people to get things moving, but things need to get going. No, I am not the one having enough money at hand to start the first container shipment to europe - sorry. But I am already looking for possiblilities, checking with customs and shipping centers in Germany (since I live there) how to deal with the logistics to get the DF stuff to europe and - just more important - how to store such a huge amount here and get it on to the local distribution and customers.

I just cannot tell any details at this point, but I offer the possibility to open up a website with detailed informations on the great products of the dwarven forge and the ways to get them to Germany and then to the rest of us.

Now there is the main question: Is this of help for anyone? I can just offer to order monthly of bi-monthly, coordinate the shipping and send the boxes on to the rest of us. Surely this "service" is just for those of us, who buy just one to three sets, the bigger orders will be cheapest to order directly.

So what is in for me? Of course I am trying not to make a living out of this, but I'll but 5 bucks or so on top for the handling. I guess that's more than fair for the work.

A possible page might look like this (sorry, but only in german at this time and don't look to much into the mentioned price, it's just a sample):
www.abenteuer-schmiede.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=8

What do you think? Is this an option for some of you?

See you around,
Timo

P.S.: I started playing the lottery, too ;-)

Hi Timo,
I admire your intention. It would be great if this could work. Good luck.
A german DF Fan. :-)

Seems very promising to me ! =]
Do you plan to ship also to other European countries (France in my case) : it would raise the shipping cost, but not too much I think ? I would place some orders then.

Yea, I surely would do so, depending of the weight of the set (assuming in this case just one set) it'll cost 16-31 euros.

So for example a room set would be appr. 124,- euro.
(89$ + appr. 25$ US shipping + 19% customs = 135,60$ -> 108,- Euro plus 16,- Euro Germany to you)

This amount may vary depending on the exchange rate and the exact US shipping. I assumed about 60 pound of goods which should be no problem to get together.

If there are interested people right now just email me - timo.lemburg (AT) me (DOT) com
I would be happy to order some Sci-Fi pieces in december ;-)
