Stefan has been busy since sculpting the Cavernous Lake Set, and if you are in New York City this month you can stop by and see what he has been up to recently. He keeps amazing me with his talent.

He is having a show at the First Street Gallery (526 West 26th Street) from June 20th-July15th. Attached are two works that he will be presenting.

BTW, this is your chance to own even more of Stefan's work. Bring your wallet!

Jeff -

I have to agree - Stefan is way, way cool. More talent in his little pinky than I have in my whole body. I appreciate the detail in every piece of DF I own - the stuff wouldn't be the same without the crafted fieldstone walls (unique from piece to piece), the small details like cracks in the floor flagstones, the cool details in the 'earth' beneath the floors, etc., etc., etc. I'm not much for a lot of what people consider 'art', but I love a work that someone crafted with his or her hands that looks like it could be a photograph. The guy is amazing. I'm afraid I'm on the wrong side of the country to make any show, and on the wrong side of the economic divide to be buying art, but I'm jealous of anyone who does.

It's not a dungeon. It's an Underground Fortified Defense Installation.

Now I understand.

Now I TRULY understand. At last.

It's seems that we have a new picasso, creating our gaming stuff pals. No more only a pleasure. An honor.

Stefan, hat off. that is incredible. I wish I could go there with right just a walk.

Is that Mari?? Looks a LOT like her! Whether she modeled for the sculpt or not, that is an incredibly realistic sculpture; I keep waiting for the eyes to open and swivel around to stare back at me!
Sandy & I were debating whether the pitcher is a sculpt with the bottles a painted backdrop, or if the entire view is a painting. Now THAT is life-like, because we STILL haven't been able to decide which is correct - if either idea is!

Stefan, I've said it before, I'll say it again; YOU, sir, are an incredibly talented artist, regardless of your medium. Gaming is outrageously fortunate to have you as the father of 3D game scenery and terrain. This also demonstrates your total joy in gaming, because I KNOW there must be times when you have to ask yourself how you can be expected to survive on what DF can bring in the way of profits! Of course, there must also betimes when you look at the bank account and giggle, "Whee! NOW I can (paint/sculpt/design/etc.) that (whatever) I've always wanted to do!"

Always either feast or famine, right? That's the way of the artistic world - unless you have a rich patron.

Again, Congratulations, Stefan; those are two AWESOME pieces!

See ya in Indy!

Wow, these are very nice. Elegant pitcher. I hope these do well for him. I don't want him to be scarfed up and taken away from DF though!!!!!!

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for posting that! And thank you everyone for your very kind words!!

This will be my first One Man Art show in about 4 years. Because of Jeff I am now able to spare more time again for my painting and life sculpting. Yes, that is a sculpture of my Wife Mari, and yes, she sat for it very patiently for about 30 hours!

The Painting is Oil on Linen.

Don't worry guys, I won't be giving up Dwarven Forge anytime soon because there is just too much geekiness left inside me. Don't you know, anyway, artists are supposed to be eccentrics with wierd pastimes...

Anyway, I invite anyone in the area to come out to the opening reception which is this Friday in NYC at the First Street Gallery in Chelsea at 526 W. 26th street 5-8pm (646) 336-8053

www.firststreetgallery.net

Best Regards to all!!

Stefan.

OMG!!! I just noticed!!! That is a painting... It is not a pitcher you made? I thought that was the item for show. That has to be realism at its best. Bravo... the posts I've seen mentioned a painting and I just could not see it but now I realize it.
