Help out my kickstarter campaign 6 Months, 1 Week ago
First, I'd like to give a special thanks to Stefan Pokorny for some advice he gave me in my pre-launch. He helped me clean things up so I could present my project in a much more polished fashion.

My campaign produces travel and storage cases for RPG miniatures. I got the idea after pledging for a bunch of Dwarven Forge game tiles and the Reaper Bones II miniatures. With a ton of figures coming in and no place to put them, I used my woodworking skills to make some high quality solid wood carrying cases. I use primarily Appalachian grown woods and have some different designs that can be laser etched in them. I have even added an option where you can have your own custom artwork lasered into the case.

Take a look at my project here: Hrothgar's Hoard Kickstarter Campaign

Nice looking cases.

Over on the Conquistador Gaming Coins KS a lot of people were looking for small treasure chests to store both game counters and coins in.

I am not suggesting that you make such things now - a successfully KS will swamp you enough - but in the future maybe consider small chests?

How is the foam held in place? Is there glue fixing it to the wood, or is it slightly larger than the space it fits into so that tension keeps it there?

If the foam just lifts out, it might leave enough space for tokens or coins.

My only issue would be the size. I'd like one I could fit maybe 2 dozen minis in. Perhaps a future project

These are wonderful and if I wasn't already saving for the caverns KS I would pick one up. I will definitely look at them when they hit retail!

@jimibones83: keep an eye on the project...especially the comments section. The Rogue line is designed to be small and transportable. I've have rough ideas for other lines and I'll be using backer feedback to further develop those ideas.

@jackattack: the foam is cut slightly larger than the the opening so that friction holds it in place. I was originally going to do a little adhesive spray, but it was pointed out to me that some people may want to remove the padding in order to use the box as a dice tray. I'm also considering adding an option of felt backing instead of foam...it wouldn't be great for storing minis that way, but would make it more versatile as a dice box, dice tray, token box or whatever else gamers may need.

@maximillian: I've considered a more "chest-like" look and it wouldn't be difficult to make the adjustments. But, as you said, it is probably a future project.

@Crimson: donate $1 so you can contribute to the comments section. I'm always looking for input. If it does well and I can throw some add-ons in, you may find some spare change that will get you a Rogue :-)

Thanks to everyone for their comments. Please spread the word. I'd love to see this really take off.

That is a feature, and should be highlighted on your kickstarter page.

thanks jackattack...you are right. I'm going to do a video update this weekend and will be sure to include that.

The project got funded today, so I'm a happy camper. I'm hoping the word is getting around and that my next concern will be to figure out what stretch goals I can add.

Spread the word and take a look:

Congrats on reaching your funding goal!

These are sharp looking cases and I am sure minis will feel snug, and ultimately will perform better on the battlefield after a good nights sleep!

I am in for a case. My old dice box died before christmas and i have had to resort to using a way too small box. Fireballs and lightning bolts do not truly intimidate unless you can throw a big handful of dice. having to throw a small amount twice is less intimidating!

My old box served me well but it was a box with weak joins and made of crap wood ( nice enough to deliver my wifes spurs but died after 4 years of use)

I look forward to terrifying my players with big handfulls of dice!
