We Have Hedgehog! 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Good day fellow addicts,
My daughter recently fell in love with Reaper’s Echidnox, Hedgehog Hero. The problem is they no longer make it. I’ve tried eBay (lost out because I found the auction too late) to no avail. I found another one online but the individual wanted $40.00 for it.
I would love to paint one up for my daughter to use during our adventures, (She is currently a mouse warrior who was once an Eladrin Ranger but was cursed by a powerful wizard.) but was hoping to spend no more then $20.00. If anyone has one that they could part with they would make a 9 year old girl very happy.

That is better than the fabulous Mousling adventurers recently running around the place.

I hope someone can help you out for your daughter.
But then I am next in line!

Boy when she picks a figure, she picks a figure. This was only sold for a few months in 2009. Talk about giving daddy a hard task.

As a father I do understand how this kind of thing happens. Good Luck!!!

I will inquire with the folks who frequent my area shop to see if anyone has one they will part with. Depending on your feelings about duplication for personal use, if you can't find one to purchase you could always try to borrow one and cast a duplicate. After all, they are no longer in production and you aren't trying to resell or misrepresent it as an original.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Still illegal.

Besides, playing around with mouse adventurers is one thing, but hedgehogs are a gateway miniature. Soon she'll want chipmunk minis, then ferrets and otters. The next you know she's hiding badgers from you -- and if there's one thing you don't need, it's her sneaking badgers!

If finding one of those limited edition minis is not possible you could try to interest her in the darksword miniatures line - they have some amazing peices.

jackattack,

I know that the hedgehog is a gateway mini but I would rather have her get it from me then a random thug dealer in some dark, seedy game store.

Pay the $40.
After all, what price can you place on your daughter's happiness?
(psst, it's cheaper than a LOT of things you will be buying her!)
And seriously, how much do you spend on your hobby? ;-)
How much would you spend to see your daughter's face light up?
Besides! Sounds like quite a little collector's item!
Or you can get her started colloecting Barbie's for $60-$160 each?

Or computer games at $50+ each and have her tell you she "finished" the game in less than a week. :-|

An interim solution might be to print out the pics you have (or higher quality ones if they're available) and make a stand up "figure flat" mini for her.

It won't be real, perhaps in the same sense that some people decry plastic mini's as not "true" minis, "lead and pewter or die," but she'll still have some hedgehoggy goodness.
