Non-standard Metallic paints sources 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I'm looking for some non-standard metallic paints for a project I'm working on. In example metallic blue, metallic green, metallic red...etc. Does anybody know some good quality/high metal flake content paints like these? Thank you for any help you can give me in advance.

No experience whatsoever. Except, y'know, on a car. Where it works really well. Goes on nice and smooth. Just shake the heck out of it before you open the bottle.

I'd recommend putting it on top of a good primer.

And I'd test it on a throwaway piece.

Try your local craft store. There are a few brands of acrylic and watercolor metallics (or pearls). Don't forget to check fabric paints.

Again, no experience with these.

Vallejo Metallic Medium -- www.acrylicosvallejo.com/gb/auxiliaries-model-paints.html

Its not amazing, but with some experimentation you can mix it with pretty much any color to produce a metallic version of it.

Humbrol enamels range do a range of really bright/strong metallics. I'd test them first if you were intending to put them on plastic though?
