Frazetta is the original master, Boris Vallejo is the best known.
To the ones listed here, which are all excellent, I might add Francois Miville-Deschenes, but his prints would be harder to find.

Personally, I bought poster from Vallejo a long time ago. It seems that poster sales are in decline around here ,and Might be harder to find.

If you have budget, I might suggest buying a digital picture frame and put fantasy art from the web on it.

Great big pictures of DF set-ups. Only way to go. ;) Or the 2010 Men of Dwarven Forge Calendar. :P

Something I'd like to do if I ever actually have a gaming room is to have a spot on a wall reserved for temporary/topical art -- by which I mean artwork that pertains to the game being played. Download (or create) images for character portraits, major NPCs, monsters the group will fight, important locations, whatever, then print them out and put them up. If you've got something they haven't seen, put another page over it and unveil when the time is right. You could fit at least 9 pieces of 8.5x11 paper in roughly the same space as one poster or print.

Britt Martin is an outstanding artist. He does art for Warhammer, White Wolf, Green Ronin, and Legend of the Five Rings. Last year AEG, the publishers of L5R, had a fan fiction contest. I submitted a story about my tattooed monk, Togashi Shintaro, which was the winning entry (competition was fierce). In the last expansion set for the CCG, they made a card for him with Britt Martin doing the art.

I contacted him last week to get a print of the art (it's superb). He made it available through Zazzle, a print-on-demand company. When I checked the link, I found I could get prints in 15x11 and 21x15, but I could also get coffee mugs, mousepads, a t-shirts! So I've a t-shirt on the way.

Britt's artwork can be found here: www.brittmartin.com/Twilight_of_Fantasy/Artwork/Artwork.html

And check out Togashi Shintaro stuff: www.zazzle.com/togashi+shintaro+gifts

I just got an e-mail from Britt Martin. Zazzle pulled the items because they said "he didn't have the rights to the image." He's the original artist and does own the rights, so he's getting things straightened out.

Here's a link to his card: www.l5rsearch.com/images/cards/togashi_shintaro.jpg

The nice thing about the card is that it's a common and very useful, so just about every Dragon Clan player uses him. I picked up some neat flame tokens from Litko Aerosystems to use with him, which can also be used as flame markers for D&D and related games.

Not necessarily. It is not uncommon for an artist to sell use rights with the original commission, especially when the art is created for commercial resale; the artist can still display the art as part of his portfolio, but the customer owns the right to reproduce and sell the image. (Note that you probably don't own the rights to the character you created.)

The customer's rights are not always exclusive, though. The fact that artists sell prints of their own work is proof of that. Zazzle probably just needs to see a copy of the contract that says BMartin retains rights to the image (probably in any format except trading cards) and they'll start up again.

While the last four are great artists, that doesn't really help me find prints of their paintings I can hang up in my game room.
1 - Open Google.

2 - Type: "[artist's name]" art print sale

3 - Click Search

4 - Click on links.

It's that easy.

If you have a specific print in mind, add the name (in separate quotes) to the search.

The "look it up on Google" response hasn't worked. It never turns up sites selling prints. Believe me, I tried this and all it did was waste my time. I don't have the time to plow all of the sites it listed. That's why I came here!

It did turn up something I had forgotten about though. Back in 2005 Wizards of the Coast released some cool prints of some D&D art I liked, one was a really cool picture of Tiamat that Wayne Reynolds did. I looked around and, alas, I wasn't able to find any sites that were selling those. I'll have to keep checking on eBay!

Kradlo, that monk picture is awesome! Seriously, that is an awesome painting. I'm jealous!
