Hello All,

I travel quite a bit and end up overnight in Baltimore several times a month. I know that hotels are exciting and all but do any of you know a decent gaming store in the area to visit. Does anyone run games on a regular basis in Baltimore that I could join?

My Gaming Resume
Started Gaming in 1983
Started running games in 1990
Avid fantasy reader
DF addict since 2000
Plastic Crack addict since 2004/2005
Own a 1 inch black binder filled with character sheets for characters I have not played or only played once

Shadox!

Welcome to MY little town!

Let's see, gaming stores in Baltimore, hmmm...
Okay;
For GW, there are several in area malls an avenues, or you can hit US HQ in Glen Burnie.
For non-GW, I usually go to Walt's Games and Cards, on German Hill Rd. in Dundalk. 410-288-7044, talk to Dan, tell him Jim Kratzer sent you. He may faint from shock, but that's okay.
Another store is up in Belair; depending on where you are in Baltimore, it may be a bit of a run for you. I think it's called Rennaissance Games, it's on Belair Road, and I don't ahve the number. I've never been there, but they seem to be carrying almost anything you could want.
A third one is in Towson, and I don't have the name of it, but it's on York Rd., in the 500-block, I think. They seemed friendly, and they also seem to run games almost nightly.
And, of course, I sometimes run a game on Satuday afternoon - and I've been known to feed people, too!

Next question is, will you be in town the weekend of July 13-15? Shore Leave 29 will have a BIG game room, and we've got some Game Company-type people coming, too! You WILL have to register for the convention, but once there, you've got LOTS to do besides game, especially if you enjoy ANY TV sci-fi or fantasy/horror shows! Trek, Galactica, Stargate(s), and just about anything else. And there's a dealer's room, too!

Private e-mail me if you're interested, and we can see what we can arrange; who knows, you may wind up playtesting my big game for Saturday at Shore Leave, months before I inflict it on the gamers there!

Only one binder? Ye cats, I have nine!

But then again, many of mine take up several pages, and some of those binders are for NPCs for my campaigns, including their illustrations.

I'm in Byron Center, Michigan, just south of Grand Rapids, so if you find yourself in western Michigan, you'd be welcome to join my Thursday night game.

Kradlo,

Thanks for the invite. I will take you up on this later in the year. I pick up Michigan later this year as my company is reorganizaing the territories. As for the binder these are mostly stat blocks 1/2 page to 1 page. When I actively play a character over multiple campaigns I find a portrait and keep a character journal. In other words the gaming session through the eyes of the character. These tend to grow to about 50 pages by the time the character reaches level 20. (Atlas none of my characters have reached level 20 but I have one promising rogue/master thrower/shadow dancer that might.)
