Hey folks,

Could you folks who have no location tag please go go to "Profile" at the top of the page and put in your location?
Even if you only put your country, without being more precise with a region or city, that would helpful in more fully understanding why some of you say some of what you say.
There have been times that your message gets a "Huh?" response with readers because we have no idea where you are from so why in the world you said what you wrote and what exactly your posting is actually saying.
e.g. One guy finally mentioned in a posting he was concerned about the fed raising interest rates. I am guestimatinging he is an American and is speaking about the Federal Reserve Bank.
If that is true then his posting makes good sense.
If not, then without his location, it is still unknown what exactly he is writing about.

Does this makes sense?
Hope so.
I really see our general, if not specific locations being a partial key to understanding what we post.
I see listing our locations as a service to the others here on the DF forum.

Another good reason to post the location is the fun of discovering like-minded people all over the world, with all of the varied experiences that you get as a result of not being from the same block, or even the same city... or even the same continent... :-)

No, you forgot; you promised Tortuga to WEDGE Antilles!
Of course, that was after he promised you a wedgie if he DIDN'T get Tortuga.

If I remember correctly, you promised Carnivore could have Catalina - although WHY he wanted it was confusing to all of us.

I was supposed to get Terceira, after we conquer the Azores from Portugal. You promised!

See ya!

My pepper mills will remain inviolate! That even includes the nifty little clear lexan mill I have for backpacking.

Send your ninjas, I fear you not! I have zombie pirates at the ready!

Hi RF -

Good idea ... I've added specifics to my profile, too.

Enfield is in north central Connecticut - just on the Massachusettes border, a few miles south of Springfield - GPS coordinates of << deleted to maintain pepper mill security >>.

Now, if this had been up before i would have known exactly where Myrthe was... and could have already struck at his pepper pots, i might have to update mine with a bit more info as to where in CT...

Myrthe -

I was in Springfield from April to October 1974; my ex is from there. Nice country, out IN the country.
Do you get down to Windsor Locks often? the NEAM is there, and they have a fairly nice collection, including one of the few B-29s still in one piece. Of course, it doesn't fly, only the CAF's FIFI does that. And she doesn't fly very often, because of fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs.

See ya! (In Indy?)

I do not recall promising anything to Commander W. Antilles; are you doing some double dealing here JK?
Anyway, I thought he wanted Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.

Now wait a cotton-picking minute - Santa Catalina Island is all mine, y'all hear, all MINE!!
That is where the empire will be run from!

I would not have promised that island to carnivore that JK.
Maybe you just heard San Nicolas or San Clemente wrong - with those islands, he could enjoy the sea lions and naval gunfire, but I DEFINITELY did NOT promise carnivore Catalina JK!

You can keep working for Terceira JK; just do not get into fights and arguments with Arstein as to who gets what island.
Ok?

RF* -

Arsthein already said I could have Terceira, as long as I didn't try to fight him for San Miguel.
I told him Ponte Delgado was too crowded; Angra dos Heroismo was a much prettier town (he threw something at me; I'm not sure what it was, as I ducked, but I think it was a Roc), and the hills above the town made it almost like a miniature San Francisco - without the earthquakes. And without the bridges.

Besides, Terceira is 18 x 10 miles; if I can't have one HELL of a BIG DF layout on THAT much real estate, I deserve to be bored to death!

And Lajes Field is just the right size.

See ya!
