This is turning into a fantastic deal on what promises to be an invaluable resource book:

bit.ly/stcgks

Almost certain they will break 30K at which point the $25 pledge gets you a HARDCOVER version of the book, plus the PDF and a collection of short stories by a whos who of the gaming industry...

24 hours to go, don't say you weren't told about it ;)

Thanks, kitenerd! I've been a lurker for months and have decided it's time to get involved on the boards.

This site is one of the most dangerous I've ever come across.....to my finances. Like many others, I've been obsessively checking for news on the approaching restock. I just received a nice load of DF from a guy who no longer used his stuff, and as a surprise, he included a 10 pack of open water tiles - for free. Wow.

The first hit off the pipe is always free... then the shaking starts ;)

Nice way to come into the hobby. I lurked for years until the first KS. Dwarvenite is easier on my storage and usage... so i went in pretty big. Then KS 2 hit... i don't want to talk about it ;)

Yes there are a lot of people on this site pointing out miniatures that you then NEED to own, and showing you KS that you just CAN'T pass up and it can be dangerous, but there is also a really interesting circle of friends, sharing ideas, wishes, builds and modifications. I have met a sum total of zero people on these boards face to face, yet i feel like they are close friends. You start to know the personalities and understand the inside jokes. This is a really nice place to hang out, i look forward too hearing your voice in the discussion.

I was in the same boat up until 11am this morning. My wife and I met up with LordDust and his family at the DF booth. Sadly, we didn't get to meet galahad.

Anyways, we chatted, went for lunch at the Steak n' Shake and walked around the booths for awhile... by far, the best part of our experience. :-)

Thanks for the link Kitenerd! (And to William for finding this initially.) I got in with just a couple hours to spare. Seems like it will be a great resource.

And welcome to the forums RuleZer0!

Welcome to the forums RuleZer0. This is an awesome place with some great ideas.

It was indeed also awesome to meet up with a fellow Forge Fan at the con. I strongly encourage anyone that can swing it to try to make it out to Gencon sometime. Hopefully next year we can get even more folks to meet up! Who knows, this could even turn into an annual thing.

My three year old got to meet Stefan and was very happy about it. I swear she likes the game tiles at least as much as I do!

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Thanks to all for the warm welcome - I know you folks are friendly (from perusing many threads), but I didn't expect so many to reach out. I think I'll be here for awhile :-). I'm a Canadian and am willing to pay premium for DF products when they pass through Mordor (a.k.a., the U.S. - Canadian border, with the exchange rate and customs..and shipping costs). Alas, what people do for the things they love!

@ kitenerd: I hear you loud and clear re: the danger of needing to get in on every offering. I've read about and viewed many of the innovate ideas here and appreciate the creative juices that go beyond the base DF product, as wonderful as they are. Biowizard comes to mind with some of his terrain boosting mechanisms (and many others!).

Welcome to the forum RuleZero!

There's a lot of Canadians here (I included) cursing shipping fees and taxes but there are work-arounds.
