Looking at Sandra's sculpts more, I can't help but be reminded of the old Ral Partha Ratling minis, and feel a sense of nostalgia reignited for my early days of Heroquest and Warhammer Fantasy. Easily some of the nicest ratmen minis I've seen in a long time.

Anyone taking guesses for the Dwarvenite color these guys will be cast in? Brown, gray?

Sandra's stuff is great. I hope DF keeps having her sculpt figures to go with the themes of the new sets each year.

I'm sure most everyone on the forum already knows this but for the few who don't ~ Sandra Garrity is who sculpted the Woodland Set here at Dwarven Forge.

The Woodland Set is a limited edition and currently in stock :-)

Thanks for mentioning that. She had told me that when I was chatting with her.

As mentioned in another thread, jchunick and I met up at Gencon and had a blast. I would love to see more forumites show up at the con and meet up at the booth next year. It would be pretty cool to make an annual "thing" out of it. I am going to try to start planning earlier for it this year. If anyone needs help tracking down info, speak up. I'm sure I or another helpful Forge Fan can assist.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

We're definitely talking about GenCon next year or worst case the one after. Meeting some other DFers would be great!

GenCon is too far for us now, but Jason and I met up at NTRPGCon! Us Texans can all meet up there.

My wife and I are now back home and very tired... but now we have a couple little ones to put into bed before we can try catching up on sleep since we had to be up at 3:30am this morning for our red-eye flight home.

I will say this: GenCon is HUGE! There was sooo much going on that we were simply overwhelmed. I would suggest anyone who's going to go for the first time talk to someone who has gone before and find out how things work so you know your options and can make a good game plan.

One thing I would say was a surprise (since I had never been at a Con before) was that there really are few deals to be had. Paizo, for instance, was full price as far as I can tell... although what's funny is there was a smaller company beside them who sold all sorts of game stuff, including Paizo and they manually marked down all their Paizo items to be a few bucks lower than what Paizo was selling. :-)

The other big part of the Con is that there is something for everyone... literally. Whatever game system you play there was either an event set up for it or someone was playing it somewhere in the Con.

I'll post some more thoughts and pics tomorrow, after some sleep.

@ jchunick and LordDust - Sorry I missed you guys. I had seen the proposed meetup time, but had a True Dungeon run scheduled Sunday shortly before lunch. I suspect this will be the first of many conventions for me, hopefully I'll have a chance to meet you and other forumites in the future.

@ Stefan and team - Just wanted offer a big THANK YOU to Stefan and DF team. The DF booth was great. Tons of products on display, booth had a great flow to it, and the staff was friendly and helpful across the board (excellent customer service as I've come to expect from DF).

As many others have said, Stefan is such a great guy, generous with his time and his passion. Also had the pleasure to meet Sandra Garrity and Thod. I felt like such a DF fangirl, but I couldn't help being a little giddy at the opportunity to meet and chat with all these amazing folks who share a passion for DF. Hope to see everyone again next year!
