Your favorite barbarian sculpt (Conan style!) 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
One of my favorite barbarian miniatures I have seen is shown in the pictures below. He is the center barbarian in front of the Otherworld purple worm in the second picture. I think he may have be sculpted for redbox miniatures perhaps by Tre Manor. I haven't been able to find him for sale anywhere, but I hope they restock this miniature so I can buy one. If anyone knows where we can buy this figure, please let me know. Also if you want to share other great barbarian miniatures that you love please post in this thread.

He's from Hasslefree Miniatures. They also have a few variations if memory serves. I don't think he's a Tre Manor sculpt but I could be wrong. Hope this helps.

Also, Tre has an active Kickstarter for barbarians. You might want to check it out.

He has also done a few Conan style sculpts for Reaper. You might want to search the Reaper site for his name and they should come up.

Thank you. I guess this figure had been tagged incorrectly on facebook so I appreciate being pointed to hasslefree.

Heresy Miniatures has a great line of barbarians, including the famous/infamous Big Boris!

@nikdo thanks for the link. I just backed that project. The barbarians look great.

Some of the Heresy miniatures barbarians look a little cartoony and ill-proportioned for my tastes.

Addicted to DF - Proud owner of 147 DF sets and counting = 126 new non-bowtie sets, and 21 older bowtie sets! By some miracle, I have managed to avoid wife aggro so far...

Heresy miniatures did have a somewhat mirthful attitude in their sculpts. Big Boris was intentionally beefed up, and has been described by Andy as a half-ogre. Big Boris Mk II is even larger, and Mk III larger still.

I used the figure above in Iron Heroes RPG, which was like D&D 3rd on steroids. Boris was tremendous fun to play, as an over-the-top barbarian. His shining moment was punching his way out of the mouth of a T-rex.

As for Tre Manor's barbarians, I'm a backer for his new kickstarter as well. His sculpts are amazing.

Sorn has a stunningly painted Barbarian Dude which he showcased on this forum. I was lucky enough to get hold of one of the last of those, but the sculptor has released a Barbarian Dude Redux which may still be available if you move quickly.

@jgardner44 - Glad to be of assistance. Hasslefree also has other variations of the character. Be sure to check those out too. They also bought a handful of Tre Manor's earlier sculpts that are more like heroic 28mm in scale. You might want to check those out too. And don't forget Reaper. Tre used to do a lot of work for them and a number of his figures are very Conan-esque.

@Sorn - You're welcome my friend. I'm a big fan of Tre's work. He had a rough time with his first KS but he learned from his mistakes and the last two have been much smoother.

I am currently backing Tre Manor's current Barbarian Horde Kickstarter too. Those barbarians are looking pretty awesome, and I especially like his take on the hooded Craven, cowardly archers with poisoned arrows, in addition to his more traditional Conan front-line types. I hope the Kickstarter gets enough support to get the mounted and foot versions of the barbarian hero included as well.
