To the OP:

You've got to do your homework before buying online. When I first started buying minis, I looked up reviews of all the sites. Popular Collections had many bad reviews of all stripes. Another store out there had horrible reviews (Can't even remember it now) so I didn't consider. Have to avoid those.

I've bought from many sources-- below are my experiences.

Miniature Market: Outstanding customer service and packing. Shipping free over 100$ Only slight downsides are price on singles and singles selection sometimes. Sealed product has best or at least near best pricing always. Big thumbs up.

Coolstuff Inc: Used to be best source, especially if you bought enough stuff to earn customer reward discounts (5-20% off already low mini prices is great)
HOWEVER-- service got worse over time. Had no problems for several years and then, broken minis, missing minis or cards, and finally a missing order. I am mostly done with them, though I may buy sealed product or a hard to find mini during a sale still. Thumbs down but they are not scam artists, just have gone downhill a lot.

Auggie's: Great service and good prices in general. Fast and cheap shipping. His selection has gone down a lot in recent years though. Big thumbs up.

Beholder the Bargains: He deals in DDM minis only but he's got great prices and selection in general. Very easy to communicate and deal with. Big thumbs up.

Troll & Toad: I have read a few anecdotes of bad experiences buying from them, but they weren't overwhelming and centered largely on complaints about buying their random lots or individual booster packs. I don't buy those, so I've made several purchases without a hitch. There was one credit card glitch on an order, and their customer service resolved the issue promptly with great communication. Bought many Star Wars and Mage Knight minis from them cheap and some sealed products with zero issues. Big Thumbs Up from me, but from what I've read YMMV depending upon product.

AvengersRule: He runs an evilbay store-- he has huge selection of single minis in a wide variety of products, competitive pricing (can be lowest on some or on high side on others) and free shipping over 100$. Solid communication, packing, and ship time. Big thumbs up.

StrikeZoneOnline: I have bought Heroclix, Star Wars, DDM and Pathfinder singles from them. Fast cheap shipping and competitive pricing. Don't let Google search fool you. High in the search standings is a "Strike Zone ripped me off" post but further review shows the poster was in the wrong himself and plenty of people negged him. They have great evilbay feedback. Big Thumbs Up.

Noble Knight: Prices are high in general, but they have flat shipping, amazing selection (including tons of terrain and minis) and great customer service and communication. Big thumbs up.

FRP Games: Have bought sealed minis product or RPG items from them at low or clearance prices. Shipping can be high, but low price balances it out usually. No complaints; great communication. They have terrain as well.
Big thumbs up.

OK, hope that helped some. Good luck in finding good sources for your needs.

The reviews above my post are spot on. I agree with about everything that was said.

Thanks for that detailed and extensive list zen. I may have had bad experiences with Troll and Toad to the point I am very reluctant to buy from them, but the rest of that list includes many companies that I will be giving a try in the future.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

I just ordered several preprinted miniatures, using Auggie's, Troll and Toad, Beholder the Bargains, and Paizo.

The Auggie's order went off without a hitch.

I couldn't get the Troll and Toad site to add anything to my cart, even after registering for an account. Maybe it's it's a Mac/Safari thing. Couldn't place an order, so I moved on.

Beholder the Bargains had all of the D&D minis I wanted (but not enough of the Ettercaps), but there was some kind of connection problem that placed the order but skipped the PayPal step. They sent me an e-mail with a link to pay on the same day, so the minis are on their way.

Finally, Paizo had the Pathfinder minis I wanted, and the order went off without a hitch.

If I have any delivery or condition problems, I'll update.
