Raiders of the Lost Forge 5 Months ago
Hi fellow Dwarven Forge fans and our illustrious artist and GM Stefan. I'm a backer at the Grand Master level and want to start figuring out some of the logistics. Since there's a "Fellowship of the Forge" group, I thought it would be fun if we took the name "Raiders of the Lost Forge" and gave them a run for their delving and treasure-taking money. I plan to post a link to a survey here and on the Kickstarter comments to start gathering info on fellow gamers who are interested in grabbing a seat at the table.

Stefan - Are you able to run a game around Thanksgiving or Christmas? Obviously not on the holiday days, but somewhere within a few days to a week would work best for me since I'm normally in NY at those times. The caveat is that I'll need to find at least 4 other gamers available around that time to help share the cost.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone. I'm super excited by this opportunity and view it as a once in a lifetime experience!

This certainly sounds very interesting...I'd love to, however, job situation is up in the air, and if it sends me to the other half of the country like I suspect it may by that time, would be very problematic. GL and have fun to all who can do this.

Eden,

I am really flexible on the times, just don't want to do back to back nights of Patron games:) And not on December 25th, which is my birthday:) Otherwise, I am really open, and thank you very much for signing up, I'll do my best to make it awesome:)

How would the cost be split if you do get your 4 additional gamers?

The cost of the event ($2125) will be split evenly among the party members. I think 6 players might be the best balance between cost and group size, but according to the rules we can accommodate up to 8 players at the table (me + 7 others).

Don't know if I would be able to suck up travel and a hotel to NYC from TX, but what is involved? Is it a one day session, weekend, few hours on some day, other stuff related to planning other than date of event?

And maybe no one knows yet, but would character generation be at session start or beforehand?

I believe it is an evening of gaming with Stefan. Perhaps he could step in and clarify.

I've seen that the Fellowship of the Forge fellows are already working on character generation and think we'd also want to do it in advance so that we can get right into playing. From what I've read in their thread, it's a mix of 1st and 2nd edition AD&D.

Well Met All!

Galdor here. Last year's trek was kicked off with a late breakfast / early lunch at Tutu's. Then back to Stefan's (by way of the local mart) for AN EPIC ADVENTURE! We scantly broke for dinner since it cut into our gaming time, and we ended in the wee hours of the morning. (Lulu, You Rock The Free World!!!!)

We've claimed November 8th for this year, so hands off! :-) Stefan runs a 1st Edition Game (with just a few concessions from 2nd Edition) and does well with 3rd to 5th level characters. Feel free to use my patented method of character generation here

Sincerely,

Galdor, Humble Servant of the Great Crescent, and Slayer of Lizardmen
