Quality Accessories Links List 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
{{Note}}
This post can originally be found here, but I wanted to make a separate thread for it as I think it can be a nice, quick guide for anyone looking for (what I consider) quality accessories.
---------------------------------------------

In the last week I have been coming across and further scouring the net for various accessory pieces and trying to find the best stuff out there (there's a lot of crap, in my opinion). These are the ones I found that are of a good to high quality or just carry unique pieces I haven't seen anywhere else:

www.facebook.com/GriffinTamerStudio?ref=hl
- he has nothing yet, for sale, but you really have to see the entrances he's built. Just keep your eyes open for the KS. The Kickstarter is underway as of May 15th, 2014 and will run until June 19th, 2014. You can check it out here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/2129581159/enter-the-dungeon-miniature-terrain-by-griffin-tam/
- items include: The Giant Gate with various door inserts, 3 types of small double doors, The Monster Gate, The Temple, The Limestone Cave with "secret door" insert and stone stairs, The Dwarven Hold, campfire, logs, bedrolls, skeleton body on floor, tent, well and bucket, translucent fire effects: Large Fire Elemental, Blazing campfire, Smoldering camp cook fire with soup pot, Ring of Fire (trap or summoning circle), Small hearth fire, Small gout of flame, Bonfire, Wall of Fire, Pillar of Fire, stone slab table, stone benches, Stonemaws (creatures), Barred Barrier insert for small double door entrance, Barred barriers pack, weapon rack, trap doors with various door inserts - they open and close.

www.ebay.com/usr/keeblerorc
- Keeblerorc builds and sell excellent mods of Dwarven Forge tiles. He does a lot of amazing work with LEDs... well, you have to click the link to appreciate it.

www.tabletop-art.de
- they have, what look like high quality pieces such as: shelves, books, maps, scrolls, candles and candle holders, stacked boxes and barrels sets, bottles and small bottles sets, bookshelf and commode set, various humanoid and animal skulls, and other stuff that I was not interested in.

www.reapermini.com
- adventuring accessories, familiars, altar, candelabra, treasure - books, magic treasure - stack books, scrolls, book on pedestal, and more... their listing sucks as it doesn't break it down into accessories as a sub category AFAIK.

www.ziterdes.de
- I'm not sure about the quality of all their pieces, but they have quite a range of quality stuff I haven't really seen anywhere else: Alchemist shelves, Necromancer shelves, tons of statues - this would be the place to go for variety and quality, lions fountain, various tombstones, gargoyle statues, torture chamber, fireside, and more.

www.fenrisgames.com
- these guys have some, what look like, decent to nice pieces such as: unique styled treasure chests, variety of styles of coffins, bell jars (many broken), egyptian styled jars, canopic jars, urns, cool dragon gate, celtic floor highly detailed celtic patterns, 4 sets of celtic runestones (2 stones per set would make a nice magical circle of standing stones), stone lion pedistals, lots of columns both full and broken, rubble - various styles, gravestones - various, road signs, roadside markers, crates and barrels, large skulls, runestone markers, dead tree, etc. Cthulhu and Cthulhu-inspired pieces.

www.tabletop-world.com
- they produce the highest quality/detailed pieces I have seen of anyone, which include: buildings (amazing in and out), groceries, supplies, furniture, tombstones, a hill, dead tree.

www.minimonsters.eu
- fences, dwarfs entrenchment, skulls, gargoyles, ruined columns, corinthian columns, obelisk, statues, variety of different styled/sized barrels and crates, doors, dragons teeth (barriers mostly used for wargaming), guard tower - high quality but not as high as that of Tabletop World.

www.dark-art-studios.co.uk
- the quality seems to range, and they tend to have a more cartoon-y style to me, but that could also be the bright paints used in the example pics... anyways, they have some unique pieces, which include: Rack & Iron Maiden set, various style treasure chests, graves, tombstones, gravestones, firepit, campfire and cauldron sets, coin mounds, wooden barrels and crates, various skulls and banners inc. animal skull banner.

www.midlamminiatures.co.uk
- they don't carry much but they do have some good quality unique pieces that I definitely haven't seen anywhere else, for example: Astrologer's Kit - telescope, astrolabe and globe, nice goblin throne, sign posts - good quality, cart wheels, trap doors, trap doorways showing various trap styles, round open doorways, torches lit and unlit, torturer's brazier, knight's lance. Then there's the less unique such as tables and chairs, wishing well, chests - which are ugly, weapons sprue, weapons rack.

www.mirliton.it
- driver with mule and barrels of wine
- driver with mule ad trunks
- farmer leading mules with sacks
- mules with knight's luggage
- woman plucking a duck
- cook with rolling pin and dough
- farmer with mule hauling wood
- cook with rolling pin at table
- medieval wagon with two horses pulling cart, and driver
- country woman
- sheep, pigs, chickens, Ox, medieval trumpeter
- much more town accessories

www.scotiagrendel.com
- some unique accessory pieces like the Grills and treasure piles... there's the Stone Bridge, Portcullis, Unearthed Crypt, Dragon Altar, Pub Snug... all £7.00
- The Dais would be great for modding (ie. the braziers). Dragon's Horn and Shaman's Fungi would be great additions for the caverns.... there's much much more... great casts, looks like top quality.

www.nalsworkshop.com
- custom cast crystals in translucent resin, great for the upcoming DF Caverns Kickstarter. Also great would be the clear resin ice cavern tiles and pieces they cast. They have a whole range. A bit pricey, but for those wanting that style, it my be one of your only options.

www.ebobminiatures.com
- small footbridge, large bridge, small gothic pillars, townsfolk, table and benches, pony, row boat, various medieval buildings (imported from the US)... very small selection, but looks high quality

www.maxmini.eu
- very small amount of stuff, but looks excellent: Candles, books, skulls, chalices, scrolls, fur cloaks, fur pelt and drake cloak, leather lappets, various skulls, backpack, pouches, canteen, bedroll, various shields, crates, roadside shrine.

www.ainstycastings.co.uk
- this place has some great stuff for warfs and docks, etc.: various ships, incl. pirate ships, stone jetty (end piece and steps also), wooden mooring posts, gangway, floating jetty, catwalks, bouys, trade goods - piles of goods that you might see down at the docks, lots of good variety not seen elsewhere. They also carry some cemetary pieces (headstones, mixed memorials - they look like obelisks to me, tomb), dungeon settings, rock and cave setting pieces that look nice, some nice ruined city pieces such as the lion statue, a sewer system but DF is going to be doing that one for their next KS.

www.customkingdoms.com
- this one doesn't have much, but it does have a few nice Hobbit holes, and two nice guard towers, as well as floors and cottages, very stylized cast trees and tudor houses.

www.thomarillion.de
- top quality and wide range of stuff... too much to list right now... this whole list is getting big. Will add later. Just go check it out in the meantime.

www.etsy.com/shop/CicadaCrafts
- the only Hirst Arts mold makers on here. They have gotten great reviews by DFers on the forum who have purchased from them and their stuff looks top quality. It comes painted, in many cases, too. Good prices, pieces cast in various materials - resin, plastic, plaster (Merlin's Magic). They have a nice campfire piece.

www.otherworldminiatures.co.uk
- familiars, campsite, adventurer stores, adventurer cart, altar and braziers, fountain, font, treasure items, several pack mules, the Demon Idol & diorama pack.

www.zuzzy.com/
- variety of tree stumps and fallen trees, hills, spires, mounds, dents, and their terra-flex (gaming mat) system that is a latex rubber mat which looks pretty cool (some of their stuff is carried at my local gaming store so I've seen it up close).

stronghold-terrain.de/
- tavern, guildhouse, stable, old shed, small cottage, townhouse, animal set, water well (+water carrier), outhouse (+miniature), dog house, drinking trough, set of crates - corn sacks - barrels, wooden cart, small/large spokewheels, barricades, entrenchments, cobblestone streets - ends - curves - crossroads, fences, cobblestone fences. - dwarven forge roofs for the Medieval Building and Dungeon sets.

precisionmodeldesigns.com/

Games Workshop also makes some nice stuff. I got my warhammer fortress the other day. As I glued it together I couldn't help but think it was way over priced. I mean, its only $100 but its also only a few pieces of simple plastic. Still, its super awesome and I'm well pleased with it, and it isn't even painted yet

I also put together the fortified manor by them. Its out of print but it is way awesome. If got a few more that I haven't assembled yet. It will be a while before I get them all painted hut I'll post pics when I do

That's a good one. My local game shop has some nice Games Workshop buildings that I want to get. Their stuff is funny, though. A LOT of skulls, but all kind of optional. I'm going to pick up some of the buildings eventually. They also put together grab bags of stuff ranging from $5-$15... I've gotten wooden fencing, thatch weave(?) fencing, skeleton bits, skeleton horses... lots of cool stuff, really.

I didn't add them because I really didn't like the look of their stuff... it looked badly sculpted. That being said, I haven't personally ordered anything from there so I couldn't tell you first-hand. But that's where the forum can help... maybe we can get some good opinions from people as to the quality of the fantasy items being sold there.

... there are a couple caveates, though. I like the Cathedral Altar and the headstones look to be well sculpted, although there are a lot of options for headstones out there and I can't seem to get an enlarged picture to show when clicking on the thumbnail.

Anyways, what I'm usually looking for is clean, well defined lines and shapes. I don't like sloppy lines and shapes which you see in many of their accessory pieces like the chairs, shelves and blacksmith accessories, for instance. It's almost as if whomever was sculpting almost got there in clearly defining the sames, but then said, "ok, I'm done."

I have come close to getting the resin crystals, but haven't yet. Where are you seeing the 'grab bag'?... I'm not seeing that.

Btw, I didn't see this before, but they actually cast clear resin ice cavern pieces. Some of you might be interested in that :-)

You probably saw this invincibleoverlord classic right?

Lots of armorcast stuff in there. Not badly sculpted at all in my opinion.

To be fair, I haven't gone through the armorcast website extensively. I did go through to look for specific stuff and what I did see I didn't like. However, the beauty of having a list like this on a forum is that I can update it and others, like yourself, can give their opinions and suggestions. I think there's enough good examples at the link you posted to look through it further and add the link to the list with my suggestions of good pieces they carry.

As well, I have recently picked up some accessories from a couple of places, and I'll post those pics there with write-ups when I have some time.

P.S. the pentacle summoning circle pic with the fluorescent paint looks otherworldly fantastic from the link!I just picked up some fluorescent yellow and orange to do my lava tiles with. I think I'm going to have to think about and incorporate black lights into my setups now.
