I know this doesn't come close to Sorn's Mierce Miniatures figures, but I painted Reaper's Ellus Mann and added a little flickering fire conversion.

Here's a still shot:

and the underside showing the battery compartment:

My blog shows a short tutorial on the wiring.

Thanks.

Amazing work.
Quite the effort - but I can imagine the result is COMPLETLY worth it.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out considering I've only ever painted probly about 10 or so minis in my entire life. I think I might try another one in a few weeks.

That turned out awesome.

I would love to try that with one of my fire elementals from the Reaper Bones KS... I should do that, now that I'm thinking about it... I have recently received my 5mm flickering LEDs which would look great. It would be cool to try some purple or blue LEDs for magic or magical fire.

Anyone know of using a remote control to change the led color...say blue to yellow to orange and then to red?

I think Biowizard did something like that with a light box he built I'm sure once he sees this post he will weigh in on it! JChunick where do you get your 5mm flickering lights? Is it from this site www.modeltrainsoftware.com/?

That would be the thread Crimson_King_of_the_Tower is referring to.

I'm not sure if a single LED light source controlled by a remote (wireless or not) can easily be found. I know some that are programmable.

That was one of the first sites I found, but no.

I had a Paypal credit after selling off my extra Dwarven Adventurers dwarf sets so I had a nice shopping spree on ebay.

Here are the links:
5mm flickering LEDs
www.ebay.com/itm/100pc-Randomly-Flickering-Flicker-Flash-Flashing-5mm-LED-i-/120804819540?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c20874254

3mm flickering LEDs
www.ebay.com/itm/100pc-Randomly-Flickering-Flash-Flashing-3mm-LED-for-party-wedding-candle-lm-/301051221023?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item46180d141f

But if you only want a couple then find some cheap tea lights at your local dollar store or such place.. it's the cheapest way to go otherwise... if you can get a double pack then you're getting 2 flickering LEDs and 2 2032 batteries for cheap along with the battery compartment and switch... if it's low enough profile then you can fit it in a DF tile with very little modification.

This is so cool Richens!!! I'm generally impressed with anyone who has the skills to add lighting elements to dungeon terrain, but the detailed work required to add lighting to a mini's hand is really amazing. Looking forward to seeing more :)
