Well, I'm hoping either for the low end of that spectrum (I was really hoping for $20 for a gate with modular doors included) or for awesome stretch goals so I can participate with a good pledge. :)

Does that price include shipping? Or painting?

You're joking about all the specific questions, right?... I mean, let the guy at least have something unknown to us to unveil for his Kickstarter in April.

It really would be a little silly for me to try to offer too many specifics right now... things will inevitably change a bit. All I can say is I'm going to do my darnedest to keep these affordable, while paying myself at least a little something. I certainly expect these will be competitive with other terrain elements of similar quality. And as usual with a Kickstarter, a bigger pledge will mean better prices + more free stuff!

I can't really commit a specific amount at this stage, but I plan to try to rustle up some extra to get in on these. You asked about dressing bits, I thought of a couple that could be of interest depending on how adventurous you feel. Mine carts and small wagons seem like items I haven't seen a lot of that could be useful. Battering rams, small ballistae, and other siege gear could also be cool.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Now back to that dwarf gate...

Well as long as we are doing entrances... have you thought about a battering ram?

sorry i don't want to knock your work or put a dent in your enthusiasm, i just thought the right stretch goal might help you break down the next tier

Edit: OOOPS - sorry Lord Dust should have read the whole thread and realized you were a step ahead of me - been off the forums for a few days, i hate it when life gets in the way

Its all good kite, great minds think alike! In all seriousness though, the giant entrances just make siege gear seem like a good fit to me. Especially since that sort of stuff tends to be a bit harder to come by in a quality build. The mine gear also seems like a natural fit when we're talking upcoming caverns from DF with a dwarven hold or mine entrance coming in this one. Of course, the smart money will depend on what DF unleashes with their KS too.

Back to siege gear, I wold probably avoid ladders. They tend to be a little flimsy when made of a cast material and anyone can make pretty awesome ladders from the free chop sticks from the local Chinese joint and a glue gun...

Good ideas... I am definitely thinking about both mine stuff and siege gear. On the mine stuff, though, it probably makes sense to wait and see what Stefan has created for the Caverns KS - no point in duplication of effort, if he's done some mine accoutrements I'm sure they'll be awesome.

As far as siege engines, I've been wanting to do a ballista for a long time... A battering ram is a little more tricky, insofar as it should probably be made so that a group of minis can "wield" it (or else it needs a huge beast, etc.); but I'm sure a cool one could be done.

If you do a battering ram, please make sure it swings. :)

I have the line on a fantastic battering ram that came with a box of little plastic "Army men" style knights.

The battering ram was fantastic quality and is basically free.

I think I spent like 5 dollars on the whole box and I got a number of pieces in there including some great trees... the ram... some little wall defenses to protect from archers, and all the little knights.

Oh yes there was a cool cage in there as well.

I'll figure out the name of the box, but it was available to Toys R Us.

Here we go!

I got mine on sale but it's a fantastic deal for the battering ram (fully functioning by the way... pull it back and it snaps forward!) and the cage etc. Give the rest to the kids... once you pull the terrain!

^yur right that's a pretty cool ram for the price. I really like the one games workshop has though. I haven't ordered it yet but its on my list for my next purchase, along with the siege tower and some paints

I think some good add ons would just be some smaller more specialized entrances. Maybe a druidic portal, a vault door, etc

I have an idea for add-ons that would fit perfectly with portals: how about some trap effects such as flames, ice, magical barrier, or spikes from the floor or walls, smoke/mist which could represent some sort of poisonous cloud... really, any sort of door/portal trap that you could model.
