Sorry about the hijack and drama.

If you wish to resolve this issue. Remove your negative post. I will do the same when I see that you have.
I will keep my opinions to myself I will expect you to do the same.

This is far too much drama for me. I have a little boy I have to get up in the morning for school who has yet no clue as to some of the bullshit that goes on in forums that becomes so ridiculous in the light of real life.

Oh, and here's a much clearer example of being condescending: "You should take responsibility for your own actions instead of shifting blame.

This is one of the most boring threads I have ever seen. I have zero excitement for the next comments from either of you.

Now somebody comment on my suggestions, because I need approval and recognition from complete strangers. ;)

Personally I am very glad Jeff and Stefan allow us to discuss the products of private producers and other companies. These products compliment DF very well and only make me want more DF. The fact that so many different options can be discussed here combined with the typically polite and friendly atmosphere brings me back to this forum more than any other. Coming here so often keeps DF at the forefront of my 3D terrain thoughts. I sincerely think that this brings DF at least as much business as it could cost. As I have said before, kudos to Jeff and Stefan for maintaining such an open forum.

I also want to personally thank all the forum goers who do such a fantastic job of staying polite, being helpful, and sharing their experience and knowledge of setups and crafting.

That said, the occasional misunderstanding, over-heated debate, or outright rudeness will creep in from time to time. Let's all do our best to resolve these as quickly and painlessly as possible. I would like to see these forums continue to be the most awesome community around.

On topic - I am very excited about your KS Griffin, and I hope to participate.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Yipes! I step away for a little while and things get crazy! : P Teal and pink, oh my... that would be a Hellscape indeed!

To answer some questions ~

AnimeSensei,
Yes, I plan on some sort of incentive for "Early Birds."

(And Kitenerd, it won't be a hungry cat! That cracked me up too. Particularly having just finished my KS video, the filming of which was plagued by my marauding cat agitating for his dinner.)

Monkplayer,
I've got a little "sign up" thread running on my FB page, if you want notification before the KS goes live.

If you're not a Facebook fan, you can email me direct, Elye.J.Alexander [at] gmail.com, and I'll be sure to let you know.

Cody N.,
Lots of good ideas in your post. In particular I like the idea of the tunnel. It's something I've been thinking about myself for a while, finding a good way to do a vertical gaming area. I'm afraid that will have to wait for a later date (maybe the next KS...) but it's definitely waiting in the wings. A tunnel entrance, on the other hand, is something I may well have a chance to fit in. I think that would offer a lot of fun possibilities, from ancient mines to purple worms...

Another thing I've been working on lately, based in part on suggestions on this thread, is a reworking of the original Giant's Gate. I tweaked the base so it is now fully modular; that is, the wall and doors are removable from the base, so the piece can also be used without the doors as an open arch, and even without the base as a freestanding wall/arch above a roadway, waterway or what have you. Also, I have some alternate doors in the works that will allow for further customization (these will be among the stretch goals for the project). Here's a pic of the basic gate components:

Speaking of archways... could you do a larger version on the river archway from the KS2 caverns water set? Something large and stable.

The giants gate is awesome....but I am not too stoked on the face. I would prefer something more giantish, monsterish, or creature like.

@GriffinTamer.

Wow. I like the modular design. and your responsiveness to the forum member who have offered you advise. I can hardly wait to see the KS and see all the cool stuff you have in store for us. now I just need to set my hard and soft limits and then figure how much I can blow by them. :D

I don't know if this is possible, but having actual pull rings on the doors would be cool. I'm guessing this would have to be done manually after the moulding process but it might work as an exclusive KS stretch goal option.

Pull ring would be a nice touch on some of the smaller ones, but not for those big gates. Those are designed to be opened with those turning, crank wheel.....things. Cant think of the name.
On the big gates it might look out of place, because they are designed to be opened from the inside...not so people on the outside can get in.

If he did a draw bridge gate...which I want... being able to raise and lower would be sweeeeet.
