Yes, 19th century graffitti is quite modern - we also saw some in ancient Greek lettering...

No Klingon, but a lot of people had scribbled various things on cactus leaves in both Latin and Arabic scripts at the botanical garden on Kitchener's Island in Aswan, and I once signed a receipt on the boat using runes... :D
