Many of you would know of Psom Miniatures located in France (wwww.psomminiature.com) who make lines of DW compatible terrain plus some great accessories. I though Stefan had mentioned some possible collaboration with them but I'm not sure if anything eventuated.

Anyway their latest set is the Gold Mine Set which is now available. Having collected the Psom line to compliment my DF collection I have been waiting for this set for some time and it was well worth the wait.

The main mine set is based on 4" x 4" tiles which are a variety of wall, corner, open tile and dead end tiles. In addition a 4" wide passage tile is a welcome addition (something that is missing in the DF cavern set). Besides open tiles their is an additional an open tile with timber support beams on each corner. This is then capped off with a mine entrance piece. The set come with a bunch of accessories to dress up the mine such as a doorway, rock falls, water pools and so forth. Timber supports to fill in the corners where tile walls abut are a great add on and work really well.

A railway set is also available designed to fit into the 4" x 4" tile sections. This railway is really nicely done and Psom has done the hard work of getting the curve sections just right. The mine cars are exquisite additions to this with loads of mullock and glittering ore.

A mine passage set is also available which represents small tunnels excavated to chase ore lodes/viens. These do not have timber supports so can equally be used as natural passages. These are only half height walls which, though I would prefer full height walls, actually work and look pretty good anyway. The transition connection are well done and the layouts work together nicely.

Also available are elevated walkways (ala Goblin King) and a really nice archway which can be used to arch over tunnels or for changes in layout elevation. The railway set also has a ramp piece which can also be used for layout level changes.

Here are a few quick pics of the basic mine and passage layouts. I have also done a quick set up with DF cavern and cavernous passage pieces so you can see how they look.

Two sets (used all but 3 of the main tiles)

I should also mention that the underside of the Psom tiles are now painted and also have felt!

Cheers

Ahh, very nice. Looks like it blends well enough with DF Caverns. Liking the half-height narrow sections, myself.

Looks nice! Now if they were for sale in the US I would probably buy a couple of sets, but the shipping costs would be prohibitive to buy them from France.

Indeed.

I made this video one year ago when I received my sets.
I just forgot (lol) to put it online !

It shows you what you can do with one rail set + 2 mine sets + 1 narrow mine set and one modular bridge.

By the way, Psominiature is going to release new sets and I just bought the first which is totally incredible !
I started to save my money for the next ones.
(I will buy several of each since I have no interest in game tiles or similar things)
Those new sets are something I was waiting for a long time and that every player wanted.

The video will not load for me.

Also, I wonder if I just bought the rail set would it look good on the new Dwarven forge cavern tiles?

can the rails go on top of tiles we already own... not sure I have the cash flow to buy full new sets, but I am interested in possibly grabbing mine track and carts.

I fixed the video link.
Yep the rails go on top of your game tiles. (DF hist arts, psominiatures).
You put it as you want with dead end, carts etc.
