Ever fancy a card game that allows you to have a real sword fight ?

These guys who use the sword & their variants professionally have invented a game based around combat, parry, riposte etc that takes place in a proper fight.
Whilst historically accurate - Will give any GM & players a taste of battle if to gight the 'big bad guy' they need to enter a sword duel...

Art looks really good.
Educational & fun - whats not to like !?
+ does not need much investment for a couple of decks.

www.indiegogo.com/projects/audatia-the-medieval-swordfighting-card-game
btw, Indiegogo = same idea as KickStarter.

"About the Game:
This game idea was born when Rami and Guy were discussing how hard it is for students to learn swordsmanship terminology and theory. So we thought about flash cards, and suddenly it came to us- a card game that is fun to play, and at the same time imparts real knowledge of our martial heritage.
So we talked to some game designers, raised some funds, and hired Games and Tales in Oulu, Finland, to come up with a prototype. The game is done, playable, ready.
Thanks to the generosity of our Patrons, we have raised the funds to complete the artwork and print up the first run of cards. Not just the two original decks, but four character decks and the armour expansion. Now we are working towards expanding the game.
"

9 days to run as I post this. I am in for a couple of full sets.

This looks very cool... two decks works out to about $60 US - very tempting... i have nine days to decide whether to take the plunge or leave that money in the Caverns Kickstarter Fund ;)

Dandare - thanks for sharing - noticed your sig line and wanted you to be aware there is an Ogre's Den on eBay right now for not too outrageous

I sculpted that piece in the UK with a girl called Hilary who was showing me how to sculpt in miniature:) I was there for about 10 days in a charming little town called Aldershot...we worked during the day, and I went out and drank at the pub at night....fond memories, it was the first time I had ever sculpted anything in miniature...we sculpted the room set, the room and passage set, and the Ogre's Den...that was 1996....

I now have visions of the potting wheel scene from the movie Ghost except with a DF piece being produced at the end.

I assume this card systems works a bit like the old Aces High flip books?

Then we also have a lot to thanks Hilray for!

I hope you enjoyed your stay in 'Old Blighty', Aldershot is often known as the 'Home of the British Army' and I would bet most every pub you went into felt very patriotic!

Love the Ogre set - been after one for years. Only ever seen one 'in the flesh' and love the details, the plaster on the walls, the wooden floor etc etc etc..

I was a pretty wild one back in those days....fond memories of walking into a Pub that had soft carpeting! That was pretty strange, felt like someone's house, not a Pub....all eye's were on me, the outsider...good thing I was pretty handy at darts... and drinking pints, by the end of the evening I was one of the lads!
