Miniature Building Authority. They're doing a kickstarter for a new modular castle set. Got any info on Bones round two? Or is it just a guess that it will be early next year?

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

November or so, by their forum activity. They announced it for fall at Gencon.

Kickstarter freaked out over the "more than 10 sets" thing, so if you have a pledge level over $100, it needs to be adjusted to $100 with the rest as overpledge.

Its not too surprising that KS acted when they noticed -- they did the some thing in the DF kickstarter, but in DF's case I think they caught it before it represented a lot of pledges and well before the final 48 hours.

I think the lesson for other similar projects is to have better product differentiation. I don't think the coins people thought that people would buy vast quantities for RPG, they thought people would pick one or two sets for their favorite board game....

In the case of the coins, had they done something like:
"Board Gamer Set" which was their current offering
and a
"Role Player Set" which was roughly the equivalent of 5 sets (possibly listing a different canonical distribution of coins, but still swappable to match). Then they still could have offered the up to 10 copies of each and I don't think KS would have complained.

In DF's, I think it would have been easier to do a "sampler" which was a single set, and then just call the two set level a "dungeon set" or whatever, seeing how that's where the stretch rewards started it again would have seem safe to KS, I think. Of course that might cause problems for people who wanted 3 or 5 sets....

Went in for a $100. I am a coin collecter at heart and hence was a sucker for the history behind many of the coins.

Plus they can also replace my tattered poker chips.

Probably the best way is to use the two largest coins to represent multiples of the smaller coins. My own game uses copper, silver and gold so the largest two coins will represent ten gold and a hundred gold.

Sadly missed this one!

For those who also missed this one, GOOD NEWS

sent them an email, requesting to be put on the email....

once production is done (Next month) they will advise you of what you aere looking for!

I think this is awesome for D&D!

My idea around this was... $100 pack and work with denominators:

Coin Size

Tiny= 1g
Small= 10g
Medium= 100g
Large= 1000g
Jumbo = 10 000g

Looking at D&D Next ingame (last packet) prices i fealt that the above would work out just fine.... not to much clutter of coins still has a feel of real coins ingame AND ofcourse the DM controls exactly what is given out - PC's cant cheat their funds :D

Silver pieces etc are like pocket money written in they char sheets used for inns etc etc

Check on Ebay for "Medieval Leather coin pouches" and your'e sorted!

I also went in for 10 coin sets. They will work well for my games, and the time traveler set in particular will be an awesome display item.

depending on what i decide...a very hard decision indeed...i should be getting 2000-2500 coins!
gotta see what the final designs look like:)

I am thinking to keep it at just 3 types of coins...copper, silver, gold, so i can have more coins of any given type....maybe some of the coins marked with numbers to represent 10X a gold piece for truly monty haul finds....

my Gaming Table will never be the same!

I am in for 20 sets and while I love all the different designs, I am thinking perhaps only going with the extended doubloon set with the Roman Numeral markings for denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100gp.

I don't think I can help but to get as much variety as possible. I like to think treasure hoards would be represented by an array of ancient coins as well as the coins used by the various civilisations that may mint their own.

Decisions....decisions...
